Description
TileZ (by levii, additions made by ChaptGPT and Ivik Nyer)
A tile-based challenge addon for WoW Classic (there is TBC version as well but I didn't upload it yet).
TileZ turns the world into a progression grid. You can only freely travel inside tiles you have unlocked. New tiles are earned over time through experience, bonuses, and exploration choices, turning normal leveling into a route-planning challenge.
Playstyle
TileZ is made for self-imposed challenge runs, exploration-focused routing, and planning your path through the world one tile at a time.
How It Works
- The world is divided into tiles.
- You begin with a configurable number of starting tiles.
- As you gain XP, you earn more tiles over time.
- You can only move inside unlocked tiles.
- If you step into a locked tile, the screen darkens with a fog-of-war effect.
- If auto-unlock is enabled and you have tiles available, the new tile is unlocked automatically.
- If auto-unlock is enabled but you have no tiles left, the blocker appears and warns you.
- Entering a dungeon for the first time costs tiles depending on the dungeon (mouse over the lock button for the prices).
Extra Rewards
- Killing a rare mob grants +1 Tile
- Killing a rare elite grants +5 Tiles
- Opening a chest-like world object can grant +1 Tile (yes even barrels and food boxes, also quest items that you open in the world also grant you +1 tile so enjoy)
UI Features
- Movable status bar
- UI scale option
- XP progress bar toward the next tile
- Available tile count
- Unlocked tile / instance count
- Tooltip support for dungeon unlock costs
- On-screen notifications for:
- Gained +X Tiles
- Spent X Tiles
Settings
You can configure:
- Tile Size
- Start Tiles
- XP Rate
- UI Scale
Default values (you can change them as you feel fit before unlocking the first tile, but this is what I personally prefer myself):
- Tile Size: 60 yards
- Start Tiles: 5
- XP Rate: 1.5x
Reset Option
A Reset Run button is available in the settings UI for level 1 characters.
This is useful if a newly created character inherits saved data from an older character with the same name.
Supported Versions
- WoW Classic/Hardcore/Era
