What's new

0.9

- Group and dungeon support. Solo, a mob another player is holding is
not coming for you and is simply dropped. In a party or raid that
is exactly backwards - the tank holds everything, so the addon
would go quiet in the one place a stray burst on a clothie
matters. Those mobs now get their own green line: the ability, the
mob's name, and the incoming count. No damage figure, no sound.
- You choose what that line covers: only your current target, or
anything you are in combat with. The first is quiet and good as a
reference; the second is busier in a five-pull but sees the loose
add nobody is targeting. Defaults to the second.
- The target filter never applies to your own incoming damage.
Anything aimed at you is shown whatever you happen to be
targeting.
- Group behaviour switches on by itself when you are in a party or
raid, and can be forced on or off.
- The green line now also covers the solo case: unticking "ignore
mobs somebody else is holding" used to put them in the red line
with a damage figure measured against your armour, for a mob that
was not hitting you. Same mistake the pet line used to make.
- /tflow threat says which mode it is in and what it would do.
- /tflow simbank takes "other" as well as "pet".

0.8

- One slot on screen instead of three fixed positions. Whatever is
showing packs into the place you put it, in priority order: your
incoming damage first, your pet's below that, and what already
landed last. A single message always appears in the top slot,
whichever message it is - a lone report no longer sits two lines
down from where you are looking.
- Lines that have to move, because something above them appeared or
vanished, now slide over two tenths of a second instead of
jumping. A line that appears lands in its place directly; only
movement is animated.
- Everything packs tighter, so three lines take up noticeably less
of the screen than two did before.

0.7

- ThrashFlow now works out who is holding each mob, and says so. You
get the full warning. A mob your pet is holding gets its own line
below it, in blue, with the incoming count and nothing else - no
damage figure, and never a sound. A mob another player is holding
is not coming for you, and can be ignored entirely.
- Two options replace 0.6's single top-threat filter: "Ignore mobs
somebody else is holding" and "Warn about mobs my pet is holding".
Both on by default. Your pet is never treated as somebody else.
- When the game gives no threat information at all - the mob is off
screen, untargeted, no nameplate - you still get the full warning.
That case is the one that matters most, and it is untouched.
- The after-the-fact report ignores all of this. It only ever
describes swings that actually landed on you.
- /tflow threat now reports both you and your pet, and states plainly
how the addon would treat that mob.
- /tflow simbank takes an optional "pet" to rehearse the pet line.

0.6

- Fixed the worst-case damage figure. It used to store one unfiltered
highest hit and then double it for a critical, so a hit that was
already a critical got doubled a second time and the number on screen
was far too high. Normal and critical maxima are now learned
separately and the estimate is the worse of the two. Damage learned
by an earlier version is discarded on first login, because it cannot
be corrected after the fact - it relearns as you fight.
- Extra-attack grants are now read from NPCs only. Your own Windfury,
Hand of Justice and similar procs - and other players' - used to be
tallied alongside the mobs'. They never produced a warning, but they
had no business being tracked.
- A mob that is not fighting you is dropped rather than remembered.
Your combat log carries other people's fights nearby, and those
banks were being kept for no reason.
- New option: only warn about mobs where you are the top threat. Off by
default, and deliberately cautious - it stays quiet only when the
client positively reports somebody else holding the mob, never
because it has no threat data. /tflow threat shows what your client
reports for your current target.
- A mob you have not touched yet can now be recognised as yours from
the threat table, so a bank formed before its first swing is not
missed.
- The report display time is adjustable in tenths of a second instead
of halves.
- Reworded the second alert mode to say what it does: "Weigh it
against my current health".
- New rehearsal commands for checking your settings safely, with no
mob and no risk: /tflow simhealth pretends you are at a chosen
percentage of your health, /tflow simbank stages an imaginary banked
burst, and /tflow damage lists what has been learned about each mob.
- Retention across a reset is now confirmed rather than assumed, and
the note about hard stuns has been settled - see section 2.

0.5 - first public beta

- Warns while a mob is carrying banked extra attacks, with the incoming
swing count and a worst-case damage estimate.
- Two alert modes: any banked attacks at all, or only when the damage
could reach a share of your current health.
- Optional level filter, to keep trivial mobs quiet while farming.
- After-the-fact report for bursts there was no time to warn about,
shown in orange beneath the warning line.
- Optional chat report with every swing broken out - damage, crits,
misses, dodges, parries - and a total.
- Configurable sound from a list of thirteen, or none. Position, size
and display time are all adjustable, with a live preview.
- Options in the game's own Settings window. Reset to defaults.
- Built-in combat-log trace for diagnosing the mechanic further. Off by
default.
