ThougUI: modern all-in-one interface for WoW Forever

ThougUI replaces a pile of separate addons with one consistent, modern suite. Everything is configured from a single settings hub (/thoug), every module can be switched on or off, and your whole setup can be saved as a profile.

Beta. Made for the WoW Forever client. If something looks wrong, tell me in the comments. Screenshots help a lot.

What you get

Unit frames and combat

  • Party frames: flat modern style with a thin outline, incoming heal prediction, shields, dispellable-debuff highlight, threat outline, role icons and ready check / resurrect / summon icons. Vertical or horizontal, compact or stacked text, click casting and aura timers. The Blizzard look is one click away.
  • Raid frames (new, off until you switch it on): compact frames for 6 to 40 players, grouped like your raid. Roles, raid markers, heal prediction, absorbs, dispel highlight, threat border, range fade, debuff icons and click casting.
  • Nameplates: slim flat plates with threat colors, a cast bar with spell icon, debuffs centered above the plate, quest markers, and separate settings for friendly players.
  • Cast bars: player, target and focus, with spell icon, timer, latency and an “interrupt ready” highlight plus sound.
  • Buffs and cooldowns: restyled buff/debuff frames, cooldown numbers and ready flashes. Name the buffs you care about and they get a gold border, a warning before they run out and a message when they end.
  • Cursor ring: shows your cast and global cooldown around the mouse.
  • Damage meter, HUD and dungeon/raid tools: damage and healing meter, combat feedback, pull timer, ready check panel and a run log.

Interface

  • Action bars: restyled buttons, optional XP line and info strip, and the old Blizzard artwork can be hidden or brought back with one switch.
  • Info bar: a slim top bar with level, zone, coordinates, gold, durability, bag space, latency, memory and more. Whispers, Group and Guild blocks. Shift + drag a block to reorder.
  • Chat and whispers: a modern chat window with a copy window, clickable URLs and timestamps. Whispers get a window of their own with one tab per person, sound for every message and a fade when you are not using it.
  • Tooltip: class colors, item and spell IDs, vendor price, quality borders, what you gain or lose compared to the item you wear, how many of an item you own and who in your group targets a unit.
  • Map: coordinates on the world map and minimap, and remembered gathering nodes.

Items and character

  • Bags and bank: clean one-window bags with search, sorting and categories. Items you cannot use are marked red with a soft glow. Alt + click an item to mark it as a favorite: favorites are listed first and never sold as junk. A bank view shows the live bank at the banker and a cached copy anywhere else.
  • Loot window: a compact loot window with quality and upgrade hints, and an option to hide low-quality items.
  • Upgrade helpers: stat weights, upgrade arrows and compare tooltips.
  • Professions planner: skills, a crafting plan and the materials you still need.
  • Class pack and class gear: class buff reminders, and a list of the best items for your class by level and dungeon, with where to get them.

Quests

  • Quest tracker: objective tracker pinned by its top edge so it does not jump around. Right click a quest to track or stop tracking it, abandon it and more. Finished quests can go last.
  • Quest helper: quest route window and best-reward marking on turn-in.

The settings hub

  • One place for everything (/thoug) with a search box, live previews and a gold dot on every value you changed (click it to restore the default).
  • Profiles: save, load and share your whole setup, load a profile automatically per class or spec, or share just one module. Settings are backed up automatically at login.
  • Themes: 8 accent colors and 6 panel themes (Midnight, Graphite, Black, Forest, Plum, Wine) from the buttons at the bottom of the hub.
  • Layout mode (/thoug layout) moves every frame from one screen.
  • Diagnostics (/thoug diag) shows addon memory, ping and Lua errors. /tbars debug prints what the action bar module sees.
  • Minimap button: right click for a quick menu with every module switch.

Getting started

  1. Install and /reload.
  2. Type /thoug to open the settings hub.
  3. Every page has an Enable switch at the top and Reset buttons per section and per page.
  4. Use the search box if you cannot find a setting.

Useful commands

Command What it does
/thoug settings hub
/thoug layout move frames
/thoug diag memory, ping, errors
/thoug theme <name> / /thoug panel <name> change accent / panel theme
/traid test show 20 sample raid frames
/tbars debug action bar diagnostics
/tbuffs watch <name> watch a buff

Recommended companion addons

ThougUI works well next to these separate addons by other authors (not included, install them from their own pages):

  • Questie: quest givers, turn-ins and objectives on the map and minimap. ThougUI does not draw quest markers on the map itself. If you use Questie, ThougUI’s quest tracker can hide Questie’s own tracker so you only see one.
  • Leatrix Plus: a large set of small quality-of-life options for the game.
  • Leatrix Maps: reveals the unexplored parts of the world map.

Notes

  • Made for the WoW Forever client. Other game versions are not tested.
  • This is a beta release. Raid frames are the newest module: please report anything odd.
  • If another bag, party frame, nameplate or action bar addon is active, turn off the matching ThougUI module (or the other addon) to avoid overlap.

Feedback

Bug reports and screenshots are welcome in the comments or the issues tab. For action bar problems, type /tbars debug and paste the result.
