Thing Pips

A lightweight addon that overlays small status pips on item slots across multiple UI frames.

What it does

Thing Pips detects item status and displays it directly on item slots.

Orange dot - The item is not yet in your AllTheThings collection. Appears on items in your bags, at the vendor, in the mailbox, and on equipped items in the character window.
Silver dot - The item is tradeable (BoE or BoU), meaning you can still hand it off to another player. Shown only in bags and the mailbox.

Data providers

Thing Pips is built around data providers — addons or game APIs that supply item state information at runtime.

Blizzard built-in API

Bind on Equip and Bind on Use items are marked as tradeable with a silver dot in bag slots. No extra addon is required for this provider.

AllTheThings

AllTheThings maintains a comprehensive database of collectible items and reports collection status for supported items. AllTheThings must be installed and enabled for the orange uncollected dot to appear.
