The Skinning Log

A personal skinning journal for WoW Forever, by Serron.

Keep a record of the creatures you skin, the materials you collect, and the
places you gather them. Use your own observations to plan another hunt, work
toward a collection goal, and grow your field journal as you explore.

YOUR FIELD JOURNAL

- Discover creatures and inspect their collected materials, observed yields,
  level ranges and creature models where the client supplies them.
- Compare material sources using your recorded skins, quantities and sample
  sizes. Browse one character's observations or your recorded characters together.
- See your gathering locations on WoW's world map. Hover a material pin for
  details, inspect an area, or set a waypoint to return.
- Keep the compact live tracker visible while you play. It shows the current
  expedition, recent material, elapsed time, collection goal and research progress.
- Build species mastery and earn research ranks, journal titles and milestones.
  Research XP belongs to the addon; it does not change character level or skill.
- Read useful creature tooltips with collected materials, observed drop
  percentages, average yield and your character's species mastery.
- Enjoy discovery announcements and a short loot message after a recorded skin.
- Save field notes and favorites, set material goals, review expedition history,
  and copy your creature summary as CSV.

The journal uses native Forever artwork, framed progress bars and a medallion
sidebar. Its position and scale are adjustable. English and German interface
labels are included; creature, material and zone names come from your game client.

GETTING STARTED

1. Enable the addon and log in to WoW Forever.
2. Skin a creature and collect the skinning loot. Recording starts automatically.
3. Type /tsl or click the minimap journal icon to open your discoveries.

YOUR OBSERVATIONS

The journal grows from loot you actually collect. Map pins record where you
stood while skinning, and observed drop
percentages are based on your samples. Small samples are marked in tooltips.

Value estimates use local Auctionator prices when available, with vendor prices
as a fallback. Expedition rates include travel and idle time and appear after
one minute. Detailed histories keep recent records while aggregate totals persist.

OPTIONAL INTEGRATIONS

Auctionator supplies local auction-price estimates. TomTom supplies waypoints
when available; otherwise the addon's map integration uses supported native
waypoints or prints coordinates. Core tracking works without either addon.

BETA AND FEEDBACK

Version 0.4.3 targets WoW Forever 1.60.1. For bug reports, include the addon
version, your client language, what you were doing and the Lua error if one
appears. A screenshot is helpful for layout issues.
