What's new

MuscleMemory 0.6.0 — First Public Beta

Keep familiar abilities in familiar places when switching characters.

MuscleMemory captures your main character's action bars and automatically suggests a layout for another class or specialization. Suggestions are ready to apply where matching abilities are available, with manual editing whenever you want to customize a pairing.

Highlights

  • Automatic ability matching based on primary purpose, secondary effects, rotation role, cooldowns, resources, and usage conditions.
  • Same abilities are copied first: shared spell identities and matching spell names within the same class take priority over functional comparisons.
  • Separate treatment of single-target and area damage, individual and group control, repeatable healing and emergency survival, and physical and magical defenses.
  • Character and specialization profiles, with saved references and custom equivalences.
  • Optional automatic application outside combat after supported character or specialization changes.

Improved ability matching

  • Blinding Sleet: classified primarily as group crowd control, without treating it as a damaging attack.
  • Frostwyrm's Fury: classified primarily as an offensive area-damage ability, with control effects considered as secondary functions when applicable.
  • Death Strike: its repeatable, resource-based healing is distinguished from healing limited by a cooldown or an enemy kill.
  • Death Pact, Divine Shield, and Ice Block: emergency survival intent can support approximate alternatives, while their different mechanics remain visible. Healing and immunity are not presented as identical effects.
  • Improved recognition of racial abilities, stun and fear breaks, defensive coverage, and abilities shared between specializations.
  • Available talents and learned spells are considered when building the current character's suggestions.

Interface and customization

  • A compact three-column view: source, equivalences, and destination.
  • Automatic suggestions remain the default workflow; editing is optional.
  • Search, role and pending filters, and click or drag-and-drop assignment in the equivalence editor.
  • Distinct states for abilities that are not configured and abilities without a direct equivalent.
  • Preview, application, and restoration controls, with explanations when an action is unavailable.

Action bars and restoration

  • Suggested abilities use the captured action-bar positions. Key bindings are not changed.
  • Items, macros, and unmatched actions are preserved.
  • Changes are restricted during combat and unsupported temporary action-bar states.
  • Previous bar contents are saved before application and can be restored with /mm undo or the restoration button.

Getting started

  1. On your main character, open /mm and select Capturar barras deste personagem.
  2. On another character, open /mm and select the captured reference.
  3. Select Aplicar sugestões to use the suggested layout. Prévia and Editar equivalências are available for optional review.

For the same shortcuts, both characters need corresponding action-bar bindings.

Beta notes

  • WoW Retail only. The interface is currently in Portuguese.
  • Ability coverage and in-game validation are ongoing. Some abilities have only approximate alternatives or no suitable equivalent.
  • Unvisited characters use catalog-based previews; actual spell availability is confirmed on the destination character.
  • Macros, pet abilities, flyouts, and custom bars without standard Blizzard action slots are outside the current translation scope.
  • Automation concerns action-bar layout. MuscleMemory does not execute abilities or play a combat rotation.

Feedback

For an incorrect suggestion, include the source and destination classes and specializations, the ability pair, relevant talents, and whether you were playing PvE or PvP. Screenshots and steps to reproduce interface or application issues are also helpful.
