The Forever Panel

An info panel for World of Warcraft: Forever. One slim bar on the edge of your screen shows your gold, bag space, auctions, gatherer tracking, flight time, ship and zeppelin timers, professions, coordinates, speed and time. A right-click opens its settings.

The panel

• Position: Put it at the top, bottom, left or right of the screen.
• Look: It uses the same gold-trimmed banner as Blizzard’s quest tracker headers. It is red for Horde and blue for Alliance, with a faction icon at the start.
• Translucent: Seven opacity steps let you see through it to the game.
• Three areas: Left, middle and right (top, middle and bottom on a side panel). Every feature can be placed in any area. Features in the right area line up from right to left.
• Top and bottom panels: They show an icon and text for each feature.
• Left and right panels: They show icons only. A per-feature option adds a short text under the icon. The panel width stays the same, and the text shrinks to fit.
• Resizable windows: Every window the addon opens can be resized, and it remembers its size.
• Your faction only: On a Horde character you only see Horde characters, and on an Alliance character only Alliance characters. This applies to gold, bags, auctions and professions.
• Fits your character: A feature that doesn’t apply to your character hides itself. For example, Gatherer disappears if you have neither Herbalism nor Mining.

Features

TFP: Gold

• Shows the total gold of all your characters, or just the current one, as 5g 2s 30c.
• The tooltip lists every character sorted by gold, with a grand total. The calculation and tooltip come from AltGold.

TFP: Bags

• Shows used or free slots, for example 12/25. The colour turns orange when you are nearly full and red when you are full.
• The tooltip gives each character’s bag space.
• Click it to open a bag and bank search window across all characters. The window adapts its columns to its size. Guild banks are ignored.
• Bank contents are recorded when you open the bank.

TFP: Auctions

• Shows how many auctions your characters have running.
• Click it to open a window listing every character’s auctions with price and duration. Auctions are kept when you switch characters.
• Open the in-game Auction House and its “Auctions” tab, and the time left is updated automatically. The addon rescans every 10 seconds while the Auction House is open.

TFP: Gatherer

• Switches between Find Herbs and Find Minerals while you move, and is built into the panel.
• If you only know one of the two, it keeps that one active and shows that one.
• Set the time between two switches in the settings, from 1.6 seconds (the default) up to 60 seconds.
• Optional sparkles: herbs and ore veins near you glow, so they are easy to spot. Switch it on with “Make herbs and ores glow” and choose herbs, ores or both. The glow is dimmer when the node is out of range and grey when you can’t gather it. It doesn’t work during combat. The sparkle is based on Forever Loot Sparkles (see Credits).
• The sparkle options are switched off while the addon Better Quest Enhancer is enabled, because both change the same game settings. Better Quest Enhancer gives the same effect on quest items, and much more.
• It is hidden automatically if your character knows neither tracking. Its settings page then says so and shows no options.
• Click it to switch the cycling on or off.

TFP: Flight Time

• Shows the destination and the remaining time of your current flight, or “Not flying”.
• It includes a table of about 800 flight durations, separate for Alliance and Horde, covering the Classic routes and the new Forever routes.
• Routes it doesn’t know are estimated from the distance and shown with a ~. There is no count-up any more.
• When you land, the real duration is saved. It replaces the built-in time and the estimate for that route and is shared by all your characters of the same faction.
• The Frequent Flier talent (20% shorter flights) is taken into account when your character has it.

TFP: Ships & Zeppelins

• Shows the next boat or zeppelin for the zone you are in. In Orgrimmar or Durotar it shows Durotar, in Undercity or Tirisfal it shows Tirisfal, and so on. Only your faction’s routes are shown.
• In a zone without a ship or zeppelin, the panel shows the name of that zone and the click is disabled. Only zones that really have a dock are used, checked separately for Horde and Alliance.
• The addon learns the timers by riding. Ride a full round trip and the schedule is saved and shared by all your characters.
• The tooltip lists the routes available at your dock, with the route from your zone first.
• Click it to open a small panel where you pick a route and report the time until arrival and departure to Say, Party, Raid or Guild.

TFP: Professions

• Remembers the crafting professions and skill of every character. Gathering professions are ignored.
• Recipe item tooltips (Plans, Pattern, Formula and so on) show which of your characters with that profession have already learned the recipe.
• A character’s recipes are recorded once you open its profession window.

TFP: Coordinates

• Shows your current map coordinates.
• Click it to choose Say, Party or Raid, and your coordinates are put in that chat. Say is prefilled in the chat box for you to send.

TFP: Speed

• Shows how fast you are moving right now, as a percentage of normal run speed (100% = 7 yards per second). It works while running, swimming, mounted and flying, and shows 0% when you stand still.
• The tooltip shows what you are doing and the speed in yards per second.

TFP: Time

• Shows your local time.
• Choose a 24-hour or 12-hour clock in the settings. Side panels show a short form without AM or PM.
• The tooltip shows your full local date and time and the server’s date and time.

Settings (right-click the panel)

• The settings open in their own large window, with a page for the panel options and one page per feature.
• Panel options: Position, opacity, default language (the game language) and more languages.
• Features: Each feature has its own visibility, area, side-panel text and settings. The list is sorted by name.
• Reset data: Per-character reset buttons, with each name in its class colour, and a clear-everything button for each feature.

Languages

All Forever languages: English, German, Spanish (Spain and Mexico), French, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Korean, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Catalan can be chosen under More languages.

Names

Characters are shown with both their first and second name.
