WakVoice

Proximity-based guild voice chat addon for WoW Classic Anniversary.

Controls each guild member's voice volume based on distance. Speakers nearby are loud, speakers far away are silent. Only non-blocked ranks can be heard.

How it works

This addon runs on top of WoW's built-in guild voice chat. It does not create a separate voice server. Every 0.5 seconds, it adjusts each member's volume locally using the C_VoiceChat API.

Members with mic ON broadcast their position via guild addon messages. Listeners receive this data and calculate distance to determine volume. Members with mic OFF send nothing and are silent.

All rank checks use server-authoritative GetGuildRosterInfo data. Local code modification cannot bypass rank restrictions on other players' clients.

Features

- Distance-based volume: full volume within 15 yards, linear falloff to 0 at 50 yards (configurable)
- Rank blocklist: blocked ranks are always muted regardless of distance
- Per-player volume override: individually adjust each speaker's volume from 0 to 100 percent
- Floating mic and speaker icons: draggable, color changes by state (green=on, red=off, pulse=active)
- Auto join and leave: when enabled, automatically joins guild voice when a speaker is nearby and leaves when no speakers are within range for 10 seconds
- Mic test with real-time volume meter
- Input and output device selection
- Push-to-talk key binding
- Per-character settings saved independently
- Resizable settings panel with 3 tabs: General, Audio, Members
- Member list with real-time distance, volume bar, and permission status

Requirements

- WoW Classic Anniversary or TBC Classic
- Guild membership
- Voice chat enabled in WoW settings
- All participants must have the addon installed

Limitations

- Users without the addon hear all members at full volume with no restrictions
- Voice delay is 60 to 150ms, determined by Blizzard servers, not controllable by addon
- Position detection disabled inside instances (UnitPosition returns nil)
- Addon cannot access or modify audio streams

길드원의 음성 볼륨을 거리에 따라 조절합니다. 가까운 발언자는 크게, 먼 발언자는 들리지 않습니다. 차단된 직위는 거리 무관 음소거됩니다.

작동 원리

WoW 내장 길드 음성 채팅 위에서 작동합니다. 별도 음성 서버를 만들지 않습니다. 0.5초마다 C_VoiceChat API로 각 멤버의 볼륨을 로컬에서 조절합니다.

마이크를 켠 멤버만 길드 애드온 메시지로 위치를 전송합니다. 청취자는 이 데이터를 받아 거리를 계산하고 볼륨을 결정합니다. 마이크를 끈 멤버는 아무것도 전송하지 않으며 들리지 않습니다.

모든 직위 확인은 서버 권한 데이터인 GetGuildRosterInfo를 사용합니다. 로컬 코드 수정은 다른 플레이어의 클라이언트에서 직위 제한을 우회할 수 없습니다.

- 리사이즈 가능한 3탭 설정 패널: 일반, 오디오, 멤버

요구 사항

- WoW 클래식 Anniversary 또는 TBC 클래식
- 길드 가입 상태
- WoW 설정에서 음성 채팅 활성화
- 모든 참가자 애드온 설치 필수

제한 사항

- 애드온 미설치 유저는 모든 멤버를 100% 음량으로 들음
- 음성 딜레이 60~150ms, Blizzard 서버에 의해 결정, 애드온으로 제어 불가
- 인스턴스 내부에서 위치 감지 비활성화
- 오디오 스트림 접근 및 수정 불가
