TerrainWorldMap ChangeLog
================
2.1.0 (October 8, 2026)
----------------------------
- Added: capital city buildings on the World Map. "Draw tiles on city maps"
now has three modes -- Off, On (terrain only) and On + Buildings -- and
the last one draws the city's buildings (Stormwind, Orgrimmar, Ironforge,
Undercity, ...) over the terrain, so underground cities like Undercity
look right too. In the menus the option is a checkbox (Off <-> On +
Buildings) with the three modes as its submenu.
- Added: the same city buildings in the standalone map window, on the
continent maps when zoomed in ("Show WMO Layers" toggles them).
- Added: Leatrix Maps integration -- clicking a dungeon or raid icon it puts
on the World Map opens that instance's map in the standalone map window,
fitted to the window. When an icon stands for several instances
(Blackrock Mountain, Caverns of Time, Ahn'Qiraj, the Frozen Halls), a list
of them, sorted by name and with their entrance icons, appears at the
cursor. Works with every version of Leatrix Maps (Classic Era,
Anniversary, Mists and WoW: Forever). Can be switched off in the new "Integrations"
settings tab, which only appears when Leatrix Maps is installed and
  enabled.
- Changed: "Draw tiles on city maps" is now on (On + Buildings) by default.

2.0.0 (October 3, 2026)
----------------------------
- Added: Dungeon, Raid, Scenario (Mists of Pandaria) and Arena maps in the
map selector. Dungeons and raids are grouped by expansion.
- Added: "Show Terrain" and "Show WMO Layers" toggles, a "Height Cutoff"
slider and a "WMO Tile Management" menu to show or hide individual WMO
  tile groups.
- Added: "Show Inaccessible Maps" option -- maps that exist in the client
data but players can't reach (unfinished, cut or replaced ones).
- Added: clicking a dungeon or raid marker opens that map. Inside dungeon
and raid maps, exit markers lead back.
- Added: follow mode in the standalone map window (Shift+Click "Goto
  Player"; continents only).
- Added: "Goto Player" now opens the dungeon or raid map you are in.
- Added: players on the map show their class icon and class-colored name in
  the tooltip.
- Added: French (frFR) and Spanish (esES, esMX) localizations.
- Added: slash commands /twm show, /twm hide, /twm center, /twm follow
on|off, /twm reset (window position and size; "all" -- settings too) and
  /twm options. /twm map on|off is now /twm overlay on|off.
- Added: Battleground support -- Alterac Valley, Warsong Gulch, Arathi
Basin and Eye of the Storm on every flavor that has them, plus Wintergrasp
and Battle for Tol Barad on Mists and Darkspear Islands on WoW: Forever.
Adds a "Battlegrounds" category to the map selector, live player position
tracking where the game itself supports it, and the same real-terrain
overlay on the native World Map as continents get.
- Added: named landmarks (towers, bunkers, graveyards, mines, bases) on
  battleground maps.
- Added: option to fade out the standalone map window's controls (header,
footer, buttons) while the mouse is away from the window; on by default.
- Changed: standalone map window redesigned.
- Changed: the standalone map window can be made much smaller -- when it
gets narrow, the map dropdowns shrink and the second one moves to a second
  row.
- Fixed: lag and ever-growing memory use while dragging or zooming the map.
- Fixed: map marker tooltips sometimes didn't appear, and they no longer
have extra empty space on the right -- they are sized to their text.
- Fixed: the standalone map window's pan/zoom position no longer resets
every time it's reopened -- only when you actually switch to a different
  map.
- Fixed: selecting a continent you're not currently on now centers the view
on its first zone instead of zooming all the way out to the whole
  continent.
- Fixed: a handful of starting-experience camps (Camp Narache, Gilneas
City, and similar) no longer show up as their own separate entries in the
zone list on Mists of Pandaria Classic.
- Fixed: the zoom flyout on the standalone map window could get clipped by
the map canvas instead of showing fully.

1.1.5 (September 26, 2026)
----------------------------
- Added: initial support for WoW: Forever (Classic+, beta) -- terrain
tiles, landmarks, graveyards, flight masters and routes, and raid
entrance markers all work. Dungeon entrance markers aren't available yet
for this flavor -- Blizzard hasn't wired up regular dungeon entrances the
same way as everything else yet.
- Changed: the "Show Points" button's icon.

1.1.4 (September 13, 2026)
----------------------------
- Added: a "Flight Path Curve Smoothing" slider in Settings' Browser tab --
makes a hovered flight master's curved routes (Shift held) look rounder
  and less jagged.
- Changed: every slider in Settings' Browser tab now shows its current
  value next to its label.
- Changed: no more fixed limit on how far you can zoom out in the
  standalone TerrainWorldMap window.

1.1.3 (August 19, 2026)
----------------------------
- Added: Flight Master names are now localized to your client's locale.

1.1.2 (August 16, 2026)
----------------------------
- Added: Flight Master markers, color-coded by faction (with a separate
icon for neutral ones) -- always drawn above every other marker type.
- Added: flight path lines between flight masters -- hover over a flight
master to see its own routes, or turn on "Toggle Flight Paths" in
Settings to always show every known route on the current continent.
Hold Shift to see a route's real curved flight path instead of a
  straight line.
- Added: "Show enemy faction Flight Masters" option (off by default --
only your own faction's and neutral flight masters show otherwise, same
as the real in-game flight map).
- Added: a "Flight Path Thickness" slider in Settings' Browser tab.
- Changed: "Reset Position" (Browser tab) renamed to "Reset to Defaults"
and now also resets every checkbox and slider on that tab, not just the
  window's position and size.

1.1.1 (August 15, 2026)
----------------------------
- Added: a "Tile Filtering" option (Smooth/Smooth+Mipmaps/Sharp) in Settings,
controlling how terrain tiles are scaled -- applies to both the World Map
overlay and the standalone map window.
- Added: tooltips explaining every option in Settings.
- Changed: terrain tiles render sharper by default (no blending) instead of
  the game's default blurred scaling.
- Changed: the continent dropdown in the standalone map window is now
sorted alphabetically (the zone dropdown already was).
- Changed: Settings reorganized -- "Show underwater terrain" and the new
tile filter moved to the main TerrainWorldMap tab; the "World Map" and
"Browser" tabs each got their own title header.
- Fixed: the Draenei and Blood Elf starting zones ("Draw child-map tiles")
now also show up when zoomed out to the combined "Azeroth" world view,
not just when Kalimdor or Eastern Kingdoms is viewed directly.

1.1.0 (August 15, 2026)
----------------------------
- Added: Landmarks now cover every named sub-area nested under a zone, not
just top-level zones -- sourced from AreaTable's own hierarchy plus real
terrain data, instead of Blizzard's own POI icons (which turned out to be
  unreliable across client builds).
- Added: Graveyard markers (spirit healer locations).
- Added: Capital city markers (new city icon).
- Added: Dungeon & Raid entrance markers, covering Vanilla through Mists of
Pandaria automatically -- and every dungeon/raid wing as its own
separate entrance where the real instance has more than one door.
- Added: a single "Dungeons" toggle covers both dungeon and raid markers;
new checkboxes for all four marker types (Landmarks/Graveyards/
Capitals/Dungeons) in Settings' "Browser" tab, alongside the existing
points menu on the map window itself.
- Added: Landmarks/Capitals/Dungeons now always display their name in
whatever language the game itself is running, regardless of what
language the underlying map data was originally generated in.
- Changed: map marker icons render crisper at larger Icon Size settings
  instead of blurring.
- Changed: the "Settings" button moved to the top of the window (next to
the lock button) and is more compact.
- Changed: the map window's bottom margin now matches its left/right
  margins.
- Removed: the old hand-collected dungeon/raid entrance list.
- Fixed: the mouseover tooltip on a map marker now follows the cursor like
a normal tooltip, instead of always appearing in the window's
bottom-right corner -- and no longer blocks clicks/dragging on the map
  underneath it.
- Fixed: map markers (and player/group position icons) no longer briefly
disappear when toggling Landmarks/Graveyards/Capitals/Dungeons on or off.
- Fixed: at larger Icon Size settings, a marker's mouseover area now covers
the whole icon instead of just its top-left corner.
- Fixed: map markers now correctly appear/disappear when resizing the
window, not just when panning or zooming.
- Fixed: the window's resize grip no longer occasionally "jumps" away from
the cursor at the start of a resize.

1.0.0 (August 10, 2026)
----------------------------
- Renamed: the addon is now TerrainWorldMap (formerly Yatlas).
- Added: support for WoW Classic TBC Anniversary (client build 2.5.6.69110,
  Interface 20506).
- Added: native Blizzard AddOn settings panel (Esc > Options > AddOns),
replacing the old standalone Options window, split into "World Map" and
  "Browser" sub-categories.
- Added: baked minimap tile overlay on the stock WorldMapFrame ("M" key), as
an alternative to Blizzard's painted map art. Toggle from the minimap
button, the new WorldMapFrame button, or /twm map on|off. Separate
options control drawing tiles on child (zoomed-in) maps, on the combined
Azeroth world view, and on capital city maps (off by default).
- Added: right-click context menu on both the minimap button and the new
WorldMapFrame button (Open TerrainWorldMap, Settings, tile toggles).
- Added: TWMFrame is now truly resizable (not just scalable) and movable
by default; a "Reset Position" button in Settings restores its default
  size, position, and zoom.
- Added: Icon Size option is now a 0.5x-3.0x multiplier applied to each
icon's own default size, instead of one absolute pixel size for
  everything.
- Added: ruRU localization.
- Added: scripts/gen_mapareas.js and scripts/parse_wdt.js, developer tools
(not loaded by the addon) that regenerate the zone-box and tile-validity
data straight from this client's own Map/UiMap/UiMapAssignment DBC data
and .wdt terrain files, instead of by hand.
- Changed: zone bounding boxes (mapdata_continents.lua) regenerated from
real DBC data -- more accurate than the original ~2011 hand-collected
coordinates, which had measurably drifted for Eastern Kingdoms/Kalimdor
zones since Cataclysm's Shattering (Outland, untouched by Cataclysm,
  matched exactly).
- Changed: tile validity (TWM_WDTValidTiles) is now read directly from
this client's own .wdt terrain files instead of an indirect proxy,
fixing false positives/negatives near zone edges, coastlines, and
  continent corners.
- Removed: dungeon, battleground, and Northrend map data -- TerrainWorldMap now only
covers the 3 open-world continents (Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms, Outland).
- Removed: graveyard display feature.
- Removed: BigTWMFrame and the /bigyatlas command, superseded by the
  now-resizable TWMFrame.
- Removed: dead/unused locale strings across all localizations.
- Fixed: "Goto Player" and the zone dropdown for zones that Blizzard's own
data files place under a different continent than the world-map
navigation UI shows (Azuremyst/Bloodmyst Isle, Eversong Woods,
Ghostlands, Isle of Quel'Danas, Silvermoon City).
- Fixed: several tile-rendering gaps that could appear when the window's
width/height isn't an exact multiple of the current zoom level.
- Fixed: zone dropdown now defaults to the first zone instead of showing
  nothing after a continent switch.
- Fixed: a long-standing deDE localization bug (wrong constant names meant
  points-related strings never localized).
- Fixed: player/party/raid position markers would visually drift away from
their true location as the Icon Size option changed, since the icon
  itself wasn't resized to match.
- Fixed: filled in missing translations (deDE "Zoom to Player on Show",
zhCN help text) and mentioned Outland support in the help text.
