Tame ’em all

TameDex is a collectible bestiary for hunters in WoW Forever. Fill your journal with the beasts you encounter, collect their different appearances, and check the family stats, diet, and abilities that help you choose your next pet.

Keep those hard-to-remember details close at hand: what a pet’s family is like, what it eats, and which abilities it can learn. Browse them alongside the beasts you’ve met, without leaving the game.

Available in English, French, German, and Spanish.

Turn silhouettes into a collection

Unseen appearances begin as black 3D silhouettes. Find a beast and target it to bring its appearance to life in your journal, with a sound and a “New TameDex entry” notification.

First encountering and targeting a beast is enough to reveal its appearance you don’t need to tame it.

The Bestiary is organised into Families → Appearances → Creatures. Each appearance is a distinct visual look, sometimes shared by several creatures. Keep track of the looks you’ve found and the silhouettes still waiting to be filled.

Get to know your next pet

A beast’s appearance might catch your eye, but there’s more to choosing a pet. Check its family’s health, armor, and damage modifiers, its diet, and the abilities it can learn.

Open a creature’s page to hear its call and rotate its 3D model for a closer look. Compare the beasts that share an appearance, or follow level and zone clues to find one you haven’t met yet.

Starting abilities and their ranks are now shown on creature pages and in tooltips, where available. These are the abilities a beast already knows when you tame it. They help you find beasts you can learn abilities from to teach your other pets.

WoW Forever is still in beta, so some ability details may change or need confirmation.

Open TameDex through its minimap button, or right-click your target or your own pet and select “Inspect in the TameDex”.

Your journal remembers your first encounter with each creature, with a small map and a waypoint. Look back at where you met a beast, or use that memory to help you return when you’re ready to tame it.

We need you

Your hunts can help other hunters fill in their journals for futur updates.

Through the We need you tab, export your field notes about your newly tamed pets’ starting abilities and the places where you encountered beasts. These notes will help us shape the future of TameDex and add starting abilities to the bestiary for everyone, filters and later provide heat maps for clues.
