Turn a group roster into five ready-to-send invites without typing a single name.

Organising a Mythic+ run with people you met outside the game means retyping five character names, each with its realm, most of them carrying accents or apostrophes. One wrong character and /invite silently fails. BoostFinder removes that step: you paste one string, and the addon shows you the whole roster with an Invite button on every line.

What it does

You copy a roster string from the BoostFinder website, open the addon with /bf, paste it, and click Importer. The window then lists every player in the run:

Role tag — TANK, HEAL, DPS or CLIENT, so you immediately see who is missing.
Name in class colour, exactly as the game expects it for an invite.
Realm, shown separately so you can tell two players with the same name apart.
Item level and Mythic+ rating, so you know who you are inviting before you do.
An Invite button on every row, and a BattleTag button for cross-realm players.

Click Inviter and the game invite goes out. The button becomes “Invité…” and stays that way for about 30 seconds, so you don't spam somebody who is still loading in. Nothing retries on its own.

Why the roster keeps itself up to date

The addon listens to your party. As each player accepts and zones in, their row switches to “present”. You never wonder whether you already invited someone, and you never invite the same person twice by accident — the addon also refuses to offer an invite to yourself.

This matters most when a player is missing five minutes before the key: one glance tells you which role is still empty and who has not shown up.

The client seat is protected

If the run has a client (the person being carried), their row sits in its own CLIENT section, and their invite button stays disabled until all four helpers are in the group. It is the single most common mistake when forming a paid or organised run — inviting the client into a half-formed group and making them wait. The addon simply doesn't let you do it.

Errors that tell you what went wrong

Most import failures come from a copy-paste that went wrong. Rather than one generic “invalid string”, you get the actual cause and what to do about it:

Format not recognised — you pasted something else; the string starts with BF1:.
Produced by a newer version of the website — update the addon.
Corrupted or truncated on copy — a checksum caught it; copy the whole string.
Incomplete — group data is missing.
Expired — regenerate it on the website before inviting anyone.

That last one exists for a reason: pasting yesterday's roster out of habit would invite five people who are not expecting anything. The addon checks expiry at import, not when you click invite, so you find out before anyone is disturbed.

Realm names are handled properly

Örkhan-ConseildesOmbres, Zhaïr-Kaelthas, Grommok-MarécagedeZangar — accents, apostrophes and spaces all have to be turned into the exact form the invite API expects. The addon does this with the game's own GetNormalizedRealmName(), and the website produces the same form character for character. You never touch it.

What this addon deliberately does not do

These are design decisions, not missing features:

No automation whatsoever. One invite = one human click. The addon never invites anyone by itself, never retries, never reacts to an event by sending an invite.
No network access. It cannot connect to anything. The only way data gets in is the clipboard, and the only thing it does with it is display it.
No data collection. Nothing is sent anywhere, because it cannot send anything.
No dependencies. No Ace3, no library bundle. Five Lua files, nothing else.
No combat log parsing, no DPS meter, no automation of gameplay.

Interface

A single draggable window, opened with /boostfinder or /bf. Dark, flat, drawn with plain textures — no Blizzard template mismatch across patches. The list scrolls with the mouse wheel. Nothing appears on your screen until you open it: no minimap button, no permanent frame, no chat spam.

Compatibility

Retail only (currently built against patch 12.0.7).
Works with any group you can invite normally, including cross-realm.
Companion to the BoostFinder website, which produces the roster string. The website is fully usable without the addon; the addon is a convenience for whoever forms the group in game.
