When you close the game, either due to a disconnect or randomly, Scrolling Combat Text For Self is disabled the next time you log in.
It's very inconvenient when you only notice it in the midst of a battle.
STSwitcher enables Scrolling Combat Text For Self by default and you can always switch it off.
