# Declutter

**Your bags are full. Declutter tells you why.**

Declutter audits your bags and your bank and reports the items that are no
longer relevant to your character — the mail chestpiece your mage will never
wear, the Linen Cloth your 375 tailor left behind, the quest item for a quest
you turned in forty levels ago, the pile of grey fangs you keep meaning to sell.

It never sells, deletes, or moves anything. It reads your bags and tells you
what it thinks. Every decision stays yours.

## What it flags

**Outleveled and unusable gear**
Armour and weapons your class physically cannot use, gear far below your level,
and soulbound pieces clearly worse than what you already have equipped in that slot.

**Vendor trash**
Greys with a sale price, and true junk whites. The window totals up exactly how
much gold is sitting in your bags waiting for a vendor.

**Stale quest items**
Quest items that no quest currently in your log needs. Always reported as
"review" rather than "junk" — a quest item can belong to a quest you have not
picked up yet, so Declutter warns instead of asserting.

**Dead consumables and profession mats**
Low-rank elixirs, scrolls and bandages far beneath your level, plus trade goods
for a profession you do not have or one you have long since outgrown.

Potions, food and drink are never flagged, and flasks are exempt.

## Why it will not cost you gold

False positives are the only way an addon like this can hurt you, so the
protection list runs before every rule:

- Epics and above are never touched
- Bags, keys, recipes, ammo, quivers, class reagents, mounts and pets are exempt
- Anything that begins a quest is exempt
- Anything a vendor pays a gold or more
- With **Auctionator** installed, anything worth more than 5g on your realm's
  auction house is exempt
- Every rule has its own toggle
- An ignore list means "never show me this item again", and it persists

Findings come in two flavours. **Junk** gold coin.
**Review** means look at it yourself first, and gets an amber marker — anything
unbound and green-or-better is automatically downgraded to review, because it
belongs on the auction house rather than

## Using it

Type `/dc` or click the minimap button. You get a sortable, collapsible list
grouped by category, showing each item's icon, reason, location and value.

- **Hover** a row for the full item tooltip plus the reason and exact bag slot
- **Shift-click** to link an item in chat
- **Ctrl-click** or **right-click** to a
- **Click a category header** to collapse it

Flagged slots are also marked directly in your bags, and the reason is appended
to the item's tooltip wherever you hover it.

## Works with what you already run

Declutter needs nothing else installed, but it uses these if they are present:

- **Baganator** — markers are drawn as a Baganator corner widget, which installs
  itself with no setup. Declutter can also feed Baganator's junk filter, but
  that is off by default because Baganator allows only one junk source at a time
  and turning it on would displace Scrap, Dejunk or Peddler.
- **Auctionator** — real auction-house prices become a value guard, so a mat
  that is worth money never gets called
- **Questie** — used only to *veto* a stale-quest flag, never to create one. If
  Questie knows an item still matters for an uncompleted quest, Declutter stays quiet.

## Notes and limits

- Built and tested on **Burning Crusade Anniversary (2.5.6)**.
- The bank is read live. Bank items appear while the bank window is open; the
  window says so plainly when it is not. Nothing stale is ever shown as current.
- Profession detection uses the English profession names, so non-English clients
  will not currently match the trade-goods rules. Everything else is unaffected.
- The trade-goods rule estimates an itemThe
  estimate deliberately runs low, which makes mats look more current than they
  are and therefore flags fewer of them.
