Strayfall RPG

Hopping on a flight path or sitting by a campfire? Strayfall is a turn-based RPG inside WoW where heroes are pulled through a rift into Caelith, a world that calls them Strays. Nine classes, nine stories, and one question: who keeps opening the rifts?

Description

# Strayfall RPG

**Hopping on a flight path or sitting by a campfire? There's a whole other world one click away.**

Strayfall is a story-driven, turn-based RPG that plays in its own little window right inside World of Warcraft. It's made for the minutes WoW leaves you with: flights, queues, waiting on the group. Every fight is turn-based, so you can stop the moment you land.

## You fell through a rift

You wake up somewhere that isn't home. The people of Caelith have a name for travelers like you: **Strays**, pulled in from other worlds, one rift at a time. Lately the rifts won't stop opening, and nobody can say who's opening them.

Pick a class and a race, live through your class's own story, and follow its road to Lanternfall, the town where every Stray's road ends. Chapter 1 is complete for every class, and it ends on a cliffhanger.

## Nine classes, nine stories

Every class gets a story of its own, about 45 minutes long, with its own corner of the world, a friend who walks at your side, and a villain who's sure they're doing the right thing.

- **Warrior, The Greyford Line.** You land in the middle of someone else's war, and pick a side before you know who's right.
- **Paladin, The Last Watch at Kestrel Keep.** A fortress of oath-sworn knights thinks you were sent to test them. They may be right.
- **Hunter, Tracks in the Wildmere.** You weren't the only thing that came through the rift. Something small, bright and frightened came too.
- **Rogue, Low Tide in Saltmouth.** You wake up in a cell, and the guards are discussing your price.
- **Priest, The Voice of Ashwell.** A starving valley decides you're the answer to its prayers. Someone else is already preaching a different answer.
- **Shaman, The Four Voices of the Galeback.** The wind is screaming, the stones are weeping, and you're the only one who can hear them.
- **Mage, A Guest of the Glass Spire.** The scholars of the Spire are thrilled to meet you. They'd like to take you apart to see how you work.
- **Warlock, The Chalk Circle.** You didn't fall through a rift by accident. Someone pulled you through on purpose, and she's more scared of you than you are of her.
- **Druid, The Pale in the Mossdeep.** The forest is dying in a gray line that moves a little every night. The forest asks you to follow it.

Then every road meets in Lanternfall, for a finale every class shares.

## Why you'll keep coming back

- **It's you, in another world.** A new hero starts as your WoW character's class, race and name. Seven races and nine classes give 63 different looks, on the map and in battle.
- **Every class plays its own way.** Paladins swear an oath that changes their story. A priest's kind deeds make their healing stronger. Shamans bargain with living elements, druids borrow shapes from the forest, and warlocks spend their own life for power.
- **What you say is remembered.** Answers you give early come back later, sometimes from the villain's mouth.
- **Bosses that will test you.** Each story's last boss is very hard on purpose if you only fight what the story puts in front of you. Fight in the tall grass, take bounties from the notice board, gear up, and come back stronger.
- **Gear you choose.** No random drops: buy it in town or find it in chests, and arrows show at a glance whether it beats what you're wearing.
- **Made for flying.** Take a flight path and Strayfall offers to open. In Lanternfall, one traveling merchant only shows up while your WoW character is in the air.
- **Never lose your place.** Saves are shared across your Battle.net account, with a slot for every class, and a clue journal that grows with every story you finish.
- **Light and free.** No ads, and nothing to pay for. It loads only when you open it, so it costs nothing until then, and entering combat pauses it and hands your keyboard straight back to WoW.

## How to play

Install it with the CurseForge app, or put the `Strayfall` and `StrayfallLauncher` folders in your `Interface\AddOns` folder. Both need to be turned on in the AddOns list.

Open the game with **/strayfall**, the minimap button, or **Play** when the flight-path offer pops up.

**Keys**

- **WASD or arrow keys:** walk, and move through menus
- **Space or E:** talk, read, open, use, choose; skip a battle message
- **M:** the title menu: switch heroes, start a new one, open your gear or the clue journal, set the battle speed
- **C:** your gear; you can also heal here between fights with a potion or a healing skill
- **J:** the clue journal
- **Esc:** back out of a screen; otherwise close the game
- **Mouse:** click battle commands and menus; drag the title bar to move the window

Enter still opens chat. Entering combat pauses the game and gives your keyboard back to WoW; click the window to carry on afterwards.

**Commands**

- **/strayfall:** open or close the game
- **/strayfall flight:** turn the flight-path offer on or off
- **/strayfall minimap:** show or hide the minimap button
- **/strayfall reset:** start the current hero over (your other heroes and the clue journal stay)

## WoW versions

One download works in all of these:

- Retail (Midnight)
- Mists of Pandaria Classic
- Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary
- Classic Era
- WoW Forever
- Titan Reforged (China)

After a new patch, tick "Load out of date AddOns" in the AddOns list until Strayfall is updated.
