Step Counter

Ever wondered how far your character has actually walked, or ridden? Step Counter tracks every step you take on foot and every mile in the saddle, counts your jumps, and tells you what that distance would be in real life. Then it lets you replay your whole journey on the world map.

Built for World of Warcraft: Forever.

NEW: Mounts and Riding

• Mounts tab. Your favorite mount (the one you've ridden furthest) turns slowly in 3D. Drag to spin it.
• Every mount you ride is listed with its miles and time in the saddle. Click one to put it on display.
• Riding stats. Miles ridden, this session, and total time in the saddle.
• 10 riding badges. Five milestones from Saddle Up to Horizon Chaser, plus five hidden ones with only a clue to go on.
• Riding buddies. Your Buddies list now shows how far you've walked and ridden with each person.

Riding only counts when you're on a mount and moving yourself. Flight paths and vehicles don't count.

NEW: Cleaner, Bigger Window

• A larger window with stats lined up in clean rows.
• A Next Badge bar on the Me tab shows your closest badge and how far you have to go.
• All 30 badges now live on their own Badges tab, in three rows: Walking, Hidden and Riding.

Journey Replay

Like the Hero's Path in Zelda. Open your world map and click Replay journey. Your character's portrait walks everywhere you've been, drawing a gold trail behind it.

• The map switches zones on its own as your journey crosses borders.
• Stamps mark where you died, leveled up, looted green or better gear and earned badges. Hover a stamp for the details.
• Play, pause, 1x / 5x / 20x speed, and a slider to scrub through your whole history.
• Recording is silent and automatic in the open world. Nothing clutters your map while you play.

Features

• Steps that fit your race. Stride length is based on your race's height, so a gnome takes far more steps than a tauren to cover the same ground.
• Jump counter. Every jump on foot is counted.
• Real-world walks. See your distance compared to real journeys: a marathon, New York to Boston, the Appalachian Trail, all the way around the Earth… and beyond.
• Miles or kilometers. Switch with one click.
• 30 collectible badges: 10 walking badges from Uncommon to Legendary, 10 hidden walking badges, and 10 riding badges.
• Badge popups that linger, pause when you hover and close on click.
• Announce your badges to nearby players, your party or your guild (you choose).
• Zone chart. See where you've walked the most, split into zones, dungeons and raids.
• Buddies. Track how far you've walked and ridden with friends, and how much of it was grouped versus solo.
• Guild leaderboard. See who in your guild has walked the furthest.
• See other players' badges on their tooltip when they have Step Counter too.
• Minimap button and addon menu entry. Type /steps to open.

Steps only count on foot. Swimming, flying, flight paths and vehicles don't count toward steps.

• /steps announce emote | party | guild - toggle badge announcements
