Splatter Combat Text

A customizable floating combat text addon for World of Warcraft. Replaces the default scrolling combat text with a clean, zone-based system that keeps your screen organized.

Features

Smart Placement | Outgoing damage splatters above center, incoming appears below, and buffs, debuffs, power changes, and rewards each have their own screen zone. The spread is dynamic: single target stays tight, AoE packs expand automatically.

Full Color Control | Damage is colored by school (Fire, Frost, Shadow, Arcane, etc). Incoming damage shows in red with a minus prefix. Every event type has a customizable color swatch. Left-click to pick, right-click to reset.

Combat Detail | Overkill amounts, DoT spell names, pet labels, melee swing distinction, and resist alerts are all built in and toggleable. Crits shake, scale up, and linger on screen longer.

Number Format | Choose between abbreviated numbers (2.1K, 1.3M) or full numbers with commas (2,100 or 1,300,000). Optional hit grouping merges rapid hits into a single number with a count (e.g. 8.4K x5).

Combat Summary | After each fight, a one-line summary prints to chat: total damage, DPS, healing, max hit, and kills. Only visible to you!

4 Themes | Dark, Light, Vivid, and Classic. Each reskins the config panel and all floating text colors. Hover to preview, click to apply.

Profiles | Save, load, rename, delete, export, and import your settings. Active profiles autosave when you make changes. Share with friends via a compact encoded string.

Minimap Button | Left-click opens config, right-click toggles the addon, drag to reposition.

• /sct : Show all commands
• /sct toggle : Enable or disable
• /sct config : Open configuration
• /sct test : Fire test events
• /sct cleanup : Force cleanup stuck text
• /sct reset : Reset to defaults

Configuration

Five tabs: General, Combat Events, Themes, Profiles, and Tools. Over 40 toggleable events, per-section scale sliders, font size control (10 to 50), animation speed, and max floating numbers.

Installation

1. Extract to Interface/AddOns/SplatterCombatText/
2. Restart WoW or /reload
3. Disable Blizzard's floating combat text in Interface > Combat for best results

Designed and tested on Classic Anniversary. Should also work with Classic Era and Cataclysm Classic.
