Give your spells a voice.

SpellQuotes is a lightweight World of Warcraft addon that lets you assign custom quotes to your abilities.

Whenever you successfully cast a configured spell, SpellQuotes rolls your chosen trigger chance. If it succeeds, one of your configured quotes is randomly selected and shared with other SpellQuotes users.

Perfect for roleplayers, character flavor, signature abilities, dramatic finishers, or simply adding a little personality to your gameplay.

How It Works

Open the configuration with:

/spellquotes

or:

/sq

Add a spell, enter its Spell ID, choose a trigger chance and add one or more quotes.

Example:

Execute

Trigger Chance: 10%

Quotes:

• "Your story ends here."

• "No second chances."

• "This is the end."

• "Should have run."

Whenever you successfully use Execute, SpellQuotes has a 10% chance to randomly select one of these quotes.

Finding Spell IDs

SpellQuotes makes this easy.

Simply hover over a spell in your spellbook or action bar. The addon adds the Spell ID directly to the spell tooltip.

No external websites or databases are required.

Communication Between Players

Due to the addon restrictions used by World of Warcraft: Forever, addons cannot freely send automated messages to normal chat channels in response to combat events.

SpellQuotes therefore uses World of Warcraft's addon communication system instead.

When playing solo, your quotes are displayed locally.

When playing in a party or raid, SpellQuotes automatically shares triggered quotes with other group members running SpellQuotes.

Other players need SpellQuotes installed to see your automated quotes.

Players without the addon will not receive or see these messages.

Forever Friendly

SpellQuotes was designed with the restricted addon environment of World of Warcraft: Forever in mind.

It does not rely on Combat Log parsing or automated normal chat messages.

Spell detection uses the player's own successful spell casts, while communication between players uses Blizzard's addon messaging system.

This keeps the addon lightweight and compatible with the modern WoW addon architecture.
