SpeakStone Narration — Main WoW Forever
SpeakStone Narration for WoW Forever plays AI-generated voiceovers for quest text, NPC gossip, and item/book text, using a clone of each NPC's own in-game dialogue as the reference voice, not a generic narrator. If Blizzard recorded that character, SpeakStone tries to sound like them. All the voices are as close to the NPC as possible. Missing something? WoW Forever stands on its own. This is a separate set of addons built for the WoW Forever client. You do not need the retail expansion packs (Burning Crusade, Wrath, Cataclysm, and so on) and you should not install the retail SpeakStone addons alongside it. WoW Forever covers Classic quests plus the new Forever-only quests, and that is all these packs contain: about 13,400 clips, roughly 59 hours of audio.
What to install (all 3)
- SpeakStone Forever Main: the addon itself (code only, no audio). Required by everything below.
- SpeakStone Forever Audio, Part 1, Part 2: the voice library, split into four parts (about 360 MB each, about 1.4 GB in total) to keep every download small. Install all four parts. Together they hold the Classic quests Forever inherits plus the Forever-only quests. A part you skip means those quests stay silent.
Packs register their voice library with Forever Main automatically. Just drop all five folders into Interface/AddOns, restart the game, and type /ss to open settings.
These are different from the retail SpeakStone packs. Retail players use SpeakStone Narration plus one pack per expansion; WoW Forever players use only the five addons above.

The SpeakStone website: speakstone.beanw.co.uk
The addon is only half of SpeakStone. The website is where players help shape what gets voiced next.
- Upload missing game data. Gossip, item and book text, and general NPC chit-chat can't be scraped from anywhere. They only exist when someone plays the game. The built-in Harvester quietly captures text the game doesn't voice yet as you play. Export it with
/ssharvest export(or right-click the minimap button) and upload it to the site. It gets queued for voicing in a future update. - Submit missing quest text. Hit a quest with no audio?
/ssmissingopens a copyable window with the text captured for every unvoiced quest you've seen, kept across sessions, ready to paste into the site. - Report a wrong or broken voice. If an NPC sounds wrong, clips, echoes or reads something it shouldn't, report it against that NPC on the site so it can be fixed or recast.
- Donate your own voice. If you're feeling brave, record and submit your voice to join the pool used to voice NPCs who have no in-game recordings of their own.
Every upload helps: text one player captures becomes audio for everyone.
Good to know
- The audio is AI-generated and unofficial. SpeakStone is not affiliated with Blizzard Entertainment.
- Disk space: about 1.4 GB for the four audio parts on Wow Forever.
- Requires the WoW Forever client (interface 16001). If the game shows the addons as out of date, tell us the interface number your client reports.
Footnote. I was originally using an addon called Quest Reader Addon by clhammer89 (curseforge.com/wow/addons/questreaderaddon) and it was great. I noticed new quests from later patches weren't narrating, so I added the narration myself, and over a month I decided to do the whole game. Other people have made AI voice addons too, so take your pick. What I like about this one is that it uses in-game characters as the reference for the neural voices, and you can add your own voice, extra items, tomes and NPC gossip (just chat with the NPCs). I find quests more immersive when I hear them, and when you have dyslexia, reading walls of text can become a chore. I love hearing the text come to life, with the emphasis the characters would put on the words.
