Description
TL;DR: SmartManaPotion gives you a true one-button mana potion macro that automatically updates based on your location and available consumables.
You must have a free slot in your Character-Specific Macros for the add-on to work.
Drag the macro created in your character-specific macros to your action bar and enjoy!
/smp to open and close or click the Mini-Map button.
The Problem
In TBC, there are multiple mana-restoring consumables to manage, including raid-specific options like Cenarion Mana Salve and Bottled Nethergon Energy. I found myself constantly swapping potions on my action bars or maintaining clunky macros to handle different situations.
I wanted a simple, lightweight solution: one button that always uses the best available mana potion.
The Solution
SmartManaPotion automatically updates a macro to use the correct mana-restoring consumable based on your current location and inventory.
Examples:
- Enter a Coilfang Reservoir dungeon or SSC? It automatically switches to Cenarion Mana Salve.
- Enter Tempest Keep? It automatically switches to Bottled Nethergon Energy.
- Run out of raid-specific consumables during a fight? It automatically falls back to your preferred standard mana potion.
The addon also updates the macro's tooltip and item count so you always know exactly what will be used and how much you have left.
