What's new

Sleek Unit Frames - v0.22.56-beta17

Introducing out-of-combat fading for a cleaner, more immersive screen, buffs and debuffs on the Player and Pet frames, plus working live combo points on the Target frame.

New: Out-of-Combat Fading

  • Added a new Out-of-combat fading section in the Frames tab.
  • Sleek frames can gently fade while you are exploring and nothing needs your attention.
  • Choose how visible faded frames remain, from slightly dimmed down to fully hidden.
  • Frames smoothly return to full opacity the moment they are needed, and fade back out slowly afterwards.
  • The feature is off by default, so existing setups look exactly the same after updating.

When Frames Come Back

  • Always when you enter combat.
  • When you have a target (optional).
  • While you cast or channel a spell (optional).
  • While your health, or your mana as a mana user, is not full, and while dead (optional).
  • When you hover your mouse over a frame or its buff/debuff icons (optional). Only the hovered frame is revealed.
  • Always while frames are unlocked, in Preview Mode, in Blizzard Edit Mode or while the Sleek settings window is open, so you can always see what you are adjusting.

Party Frames

  • Party frames stay fully visible by default so you can always keep an eye on your group.
  • Enable Also fade party frames to include Party 1-4 and their target mini frames.

New: Player & Pet Auras

  • Added a new Player & pet auras section in the Frames tab.
  • Show your own buffs and debuffs directly on the Player frame, and your pet's on the Pet frame.
  • Each can be placed Above frame (default) or Below power bar, with its own icon size and buff/debuff limits.
  • Rows grow away from the frame, with buffs nearest and debuffs further out.
  • Your own timed effects use the same timer and clock-wipe options as the Target and Party auras.
  • Off by default, and Blizzard's standard buff display is not changed.
  • Tip: if your Player or Target frame sits at the very top of the screen, move it down a little so auras placed above the frame have room.

Aura Placement Overview

  • Player: Above frame or Below power bar (new).
  • Pet: Above frame or Below power bar (new).
  • Target: Below frame or Above frame (since beta16).
  • Party: Right of frame, Below power bar or Above frame (Above added in beta16).

Fix: Live Combo Points

  • Target combo points now show during real gameplay on WoW Forever, not only in Preview Mode.
  • When the game restricts the exact combo point count for addons, each pip now fills directly through the game engine instead of being hidden.
  • In that mode, the five pips stay visible for Rogues and cat-form Druids while targeting something attackable, and light up as points are earned.
  • The pips update immediately when a Druid shifts into or out of Cat Form.
  • Existing combo point styling, placement and the Target combo points toggle are unchanged.

Compatibility & Maintenance

  • Fading only changes Sleek's own frames and works safely during combat.
  • Existing profiles and the Author's Favorite preset remain fully compatible.
  • Includes everything from beta16: auras above the frame and improved dungeon group stability.
  • Continued internal safeguards against WoW Lua's 200-local-variable limit.

Thanks to the CurseForge community for the combo point report, the request for a more immersive, fading UI, and the follow-up asking for buffs on the Player frame as well as the Target.
