Simply Fishing

One key to re-buff, cast, and reel. Press your fishing key and Simply Fishing works out what you need next: your lure, your bobber toy, a fish buff, a raft if you're swimming, or just a cast. Once your line is out, the same key reels in the bobber. No mouse aiming, no action bar juggling.

Lightweight, no libraries, and configured entirely in-game. Built for Midnight (12.1.5).

Features

• One keybind does it all. Buffs, casting and reeling from a single key or mouse button.
• Cast and Reel. While your line is out, the key hooks the bobber using soft-target interact, so you never have to click it.
• Finds your fishing items for you. Lures, throw-back fish and other fish baits in your bags are detected and sorted automatically.
• Fish Buffs. Keeps +25 Perception and +25 Fishing Skill up by throwing back fish, either automatically (whichever you have the most to spare) or in your own order.
• Stock control. See how many of each lure, fish and bait you have, and set a minimum to keep for each one.
• Zone aware. Lures and baits that only work in one place, like the Eerie Lure on The Coiled Isle, are only used there.
• Raft and bobber toys. Drops your raft when you're swimming and keeps your bobber toy and the Oversized Bobber up.
• Hear the splash. Sound effects at 100%, music and ambience muted, and sound kept on while alt-tabbed. Your own settings come back when you're done.
• Auto loot and dismount. Catches go straight to your bags while fishing, and the key dismounts you from a ground mount (never while flying).
• Sleep mode. One click on the minimap icon turns the addon fully off. It also sleeps on its own in dungeons, raids, battlegrounds and arenas.
• Combat safe. Nothing secure changes in combat, and a press mid-fight can't spend a lure or bait.

Getting Started

1. Right-click the fishing icon on the minimap, or type /sfish.
2. Click Keybind and press the key or mouse button you want to fish with.
3. Stand by water and press it.

The settings window always shows what your next press will do.

Commands

• /sfish: open the settings window
• /sfish status: print every setting and the next action
• /sfish scan: rescan your bags and report what was found
• /sfish sleep: sleep or wake
• /sfish debug: explain each key press in chat
• /sfish minimap: show or hide the minimap button
• /sfish reset: reset all settings

Fair Play

Simply Fishing never acts on its own. Every cast, reel and item use comes from you pressing the key, exactly like clicking an action bar button. WoW gives addons no way to detect a bite, so you still watch or listen for the splash yourself.

Notes

• Automatic detection of fish and lures reads item descriptions in English. On other client languages, drag items into the settings window instead.
• If a lure or fish isn't picked up, /sfish scan tells you why.
