Description
SimpleHeal is a lightweight click-to-heal raid frame addon for WoW TBC Anniversary Edition (2.5.6). It provides clean, minimal unit frames designed specifically for healers who want fast, responsive healing without the complexity and overhead of larger addons like HealBot or VuhDo.
-- What it does --
SimpleHeal replaces the default raid frames with compact, information-dense unit frames that let you heal by clicking directly on them - or without clicking at all, using hover-cast keys. Bind any spell, rank or macro to any mouse button, wheel direction or keyboard key.
-- Zero setup --
On first login, SimpleHeal detects your class and applies a matching preset automatically - you are ready to heal immediately. Every settings control has a tooltip, and everything applies instantly - there is no save button to hunt for. Settings are saved per character, and presets work on all client languages (English, German, Russian, French...).
Built-in presets for Resto Druid, Holy Paladin, Holy Priest, Discipline Priest, and Resto Shaman. Hover the drag handle any time to see a cheat-sheet of your current bindings.
-- Fully flexible bindings --
Build your own setup, Cell/HealBot style. Each binding row combines:
- Any mouse button or wheel: Left, Right, Middle, Button 4, Button 5, Wheel Up, Wheel Down
- Any modifier: None, Shift, Ctrl, Alt
- Any action: a spell, a downranked spell like "Healing Wave(Rank 3)", a macro, target, or the unit menu
Up to 20 bindings in a scrollable list. Spell names autocomplete from your spellbook - including every rank for easy downranking - and validate live (green = known, red = typo). Conflicting rows are highlighted in red, and the first binding always wins so nothing is silently overwritten.
Hover-cast keys (Clique-style): bind up to 5 keyboard keys - captured with a click, no typing needed - that cast on the frame under your mouse. No clicking, works in combat.
Macros support conditionals with @unit replaced per frame:
/cast [@unit,dead] Rebirth; [@unit,nodead] Swiftmend
All casts use hard @unit conditionals internally, so an out-of-range click fails cleanly instead of self-casting.
-- Visual indicators --
Each frame shows health with a colored bar, name, and health text (missing health, percent, or both - optionally colored green>yellow>red). Out-of-range players are faded, including players in another layer or across a battleground. Beyond that, SimpleHeal tracks:
- HoT icons with duration timers for your own spells
- Up to 4 buff indicators - gray when missing, orange when under 2 minutes left. Track buffs from any class
- Dispellable debuff highlight with icon, stack count and remaining time - plus an optional sound chime when one appears
- Incoming heal prediction, aggro border, target highlight, mouseover highlight
- Low HP warning: pulsing red border under 30% health
- GCD indicator on the frame you last cast from
- Cast flash - a brief blink confirming your click registered
- Out-of-mana indicator when you can't afford your main heal
- Feign Death shows "FD" instead of DEAD - no wasted rezzes
- Resurrection indicator, skull on dead players, OOC indicator, role icons, AFK text, mana bar, raid markers, ready check
Almost every indicator has its own toggle - strip the frames down to exactly what you want. There's even "Fade when idle" which dims the whole addon when nobody needs healing.
-- Layouts & appearance --
Four layout modes:
- Columns by role - tanks, healers, DPS in labeled columns
- Rows by role
- Grid, groups as rows - sorted by raid subgroup in stable order (no shuffling on battlegrounds)
- Grid, groups as columns
Pets below their owners or in their own group. One-line or two-line text. Five bar textures, two color modes (class-colored bars or dark bars with class-colored names), smooth animated health bars, and sliders for width, height, spacing, opacity, font size and icon size. Everything updates live.
-- Test mode --
Press Test (or /sh test) to display 15 fake players - grouped by role with pets and ticking HoTs - while damage and healing is simulated live. Style your entire setup without leaving town.
-- Profiles --
Named profiles with one-click switching, undo, and import/export strings. Auto Profile switches for you in party, raid and arena. Tooltips never cover your frames (suppression is on by default), and /sh copy CharacterName brings your setup to any alt.
-- Spec awareness --
Show SimpleHeal only for your healing spec - it hides and restores Blizzard frames automatically in your off-spec. Optionally hide it when solo, and hide Blizzard's raid AND party frames while active.
-- Slash commands --
/sh - settings (three tabs: Spells / Display / Advanced)
/sh test - test frames with simulated damage
/sh lock - lock/unlock position
/sh copy <name> - copy settings from another character
/sh bind - print active bindings (troubleshooting)
/sh blizz - toggle Blizzard frames
/sh reset - reset position
Also found under ESC > Options > AddOns > SimpleHeal.
-- Lightweight by design --
No libraries, no dependencies. Unit events update only the affected frame, aura scans run in a single pass, lookups are cached - fast even in a 40-man raid.
