Simple Class Race Faction Icons (SCRFI)

Simple Class Race Faction Icons is a lightweight, modern, and highly customizable UI enhancement for World of Warcraft. It displays elegant class, race, faction, pet family, and creature type badges directly around unit frame portrait rims (Target, Focus, and Party frames).

Whether you are in PvP, raiding, dungeon running, or out in the wild taming beasts on your Hunter, this addon delivers instant visual awareness without cluttering your screen.

🔄 Differences from the Original Project

This project is a heavily expanded fork based on Stupid Simple Class Icons by estrimaitis (licensed under the open-source MIT License).

Here is how Simple Class Race Faction Icons significantly differs and expands upon the original work:

• Complete Hunter Pet & Beast Tracking System:
  • While the original addon only tracked player units, this version introduces full support for Beast targets and Hunter pet families with accurate icon mappings.
  • Dynamic Color Borders: Alerts players instantly if a beast is standard tameable (🟢 green border) or exotic tameable (🟠 orange border).
  • Pet Specialization Display: Automatically detects and displays pet specialization badges (Ferocity, Tenacity, or Cunning).
• Creature & NPC Classification:
  • Displays distinct type badges for non-player targets (Demon, Undead, Dragonkin, Elemental, Giant, Humanoid, Mechanical, Aberration).
• Battle Pet Support:
  • Detects wild and companion battle pets to display their respective battle pet family type on a dimmed background for maximum contrast.
  • Smart filtering automatically ignores ambient non-combat critters to prevent UI clutter.
• Modernized In-Game Settings UI:

  • 🟠 Orange Border: Tameable Exotic pet family (requires Beast Mastery).

⚙️ Full Visual Customization

Open the in-game settings panel via:

• /scrfi or /scrficons
• Or navigate to Game Menu (Esc) > Options > AddOns > Simple Class Race Faction Icons.

Available Settings:

• Visibility Toggles: Independent options for Target, Focus, Party frames, Player icons, Beast details, and Battle Pets.
• Icon Shapes: Choose between modern circular clipped icons or classic square portraits.
• Borders & Rims: Multiple rim styles including Blizzard's default Portrait Chrome, Class Color tints, Soft Drop Shadows, or clean Flat Borders.
• Position & Spacing: Adjust the orbital angle (0° to 360°), orbital depth (distance from portrait center), spacing between icons, and independent sizing for Target/Focus and Party frames.

⌨️ Slash Commands

• /scrfi or /scrficons – Opens the configuration interface.
• /scrfi reset – Restores all settings to default values.
