SideBets

SideBets is a scoreboard for the side bets your friend group already makes before a key.

Before the run one person opens a round from the window (a coin button on the minimap, or /sb) and sets a stake in gold per bet, or 0 for bragging rights. Everyone in the group clicks their calls:

• Dies first – click a name, or "Nobody"
• Top damage – click a name
• Word – type a word or phrase somebody will say (you can't win with a word you said yourself)

The bookie can also click on behalf of a friend who doesn't have the addon. Calls lock automatically when the keystone timer starts.

After the run the bookie's client works out the results and the window shows who won each bet and who owes what. Results also go to party chat (optional). A ledger keeps lifetime standings for your group.

How results are decided

• First death: each player's own client records when they died and shares it once the run ends.
• Top damage: read from Blizzard's built-in damage meter after the run (the bookie needs it enabled under Options → Gameplay Enhancements).
• Word: detected from group chat when chat is readable; during a key you press Heard a word… and pick who said it, which also covers Discord voice.

What it does not do

• It never moves gold. There is no trade automation; you settle by trading like you always have.
• It never posts to public channels. Announcements go only to your own party or raid, and can be turned off.
• It never reads combat data during a Mythic+ run or boss fight. It fully respects the Midnight (12.0+) addon restrictions and simply waits for them to lift.
• No real money, ever. Keep it gold or bragging rights.

Controls: everything is in the window. Slash commands (/sb help) exist as a keyboard fallback.

Requires: Retail 12.1+. Only the bookie strictly needs the addon; friends with it get live sync.
