Shuriken Duel
Shuriken Duel is a lightweight World of Warcraft mini-game addon where you throw shurikens at a moving target, chase high scores, collect bonuses, and challenge other players in competitive duels.
What Is Shuriken Duel?
Shuriken Duel adds a small arcade-style precision game directly inside World of Warcraft.
You throw shurikens at a moving target, try to land accurate hits, survive with limited lives, and push your score as far as possible. The game is easy to understand, but the target movement, bonuses, maluses, and increasing difficulty make high scores harder to master.
It is designed as a fun side activity between pulls, while waiting for a group, or as a small competitive game with friends and guildmates.

Solo Mode
Solo mode is an endless score challenge.
You start with 3 lives and keep throwing shurikens until you run out. The goal is to survive as long as possible and reach the highest score you can.
The difficulty increases slowly over time, so longer runs become more intense without feeling unfair too early.
Duel Mode
Duel mode lets you challenge another player who also has Shuriken Duel installed.
Both players play under the same core rules:
- 3 starting lives.
- Endless run until game over.
- Highest score wins.
- Same moving target logic.
- Maluses can be earned and sent to the opponent.
Before the duel starts, both players can choose a wager.
Available wager options include:
- Friendly Duel
- 100 gold
- 250 gold
- 1000 gold
- Custom amount
Both players must select the same wager and press Ready before the duel begins.
Bonuses
During a run, bonus icons can appear on the play area.
Cat
Protects you from one missed throw.
Bear
Slows your next throw.
Fox
Restores one life.
The fox bonus is rarer and only starts appearing after longer runs.
Duel Maluses
In duel mode, strong hits and good streaks can reward maluses.
Malus icons appear on the left side of the game window. Available maluses light up and can be clicked to send them to your opponent.
Wizz
Briefly shakes the opponent’s game window.
Blind
Makes the opponent’s green aim ring blink.
Vanish
Makes the opponent’s target disappear for a short time.
Roll
Gives the opponent a random bonus.
Scores And Stats
Shuriken Duel keeps local score data using SavedVariables.
The addon tracks:
- Games played
- Solo games
- Duel games
- Wins
- Losses
- Personal best scores
- Guild top scores
- Group top scores
Score views are local and lightweight, designed for quick comparison with your own runs, your group, and your guild context.
Controls
You can play using the main Throw button or assign your own keybind in the Options menu.
The addon also includes:
- Minimap button
- Movable windows
- Volume slider
- Automatic window closing in combat
Installation
- Download and extract the addon.
- Place the ShurikenDuel folder into your World of Warcraft addon folder:
_retail_/Interface/AddOns/
- Make sure the final path looks like this:
_retail_/Interface/AddOns/ShurikenDuel/ShurikenDuel.toc
- Restart the game or type:
/reload
- Enable Shuriken Duel in the addon list.
Slash Commands
/shuri
Opens the main addon window.
/shuriken
Also opens the main addon window.
/shuri solo
Starts a solo run.
/shuri duel PlayerName
Sends a duel invite to a player.
/shuri stats
Opens the statistics window.
Notes
Shuriken Duel is fully self-contained and does not require any external libraries.
Both players need the addon installed to use duel mode.
