v1.18.0-forever
What's new
- Adventure Guide's suggestions in the quest menus. With Adventure Guide Forever on (its next release, which adds the suggestions to its API) and Shift-click to plan journeys on, right-click a quest in the tracker or the quest log: under Plan journey, Adventure Guide suggests lists up to three of its suggestions as
[level] title. Choosing one starts it as Adventure Guide's own Start does. Nothing shows while it has none. - A Forever addons page in the settings. Forever addons, under Shortest Path Forever in the AddOns settings, lists my five WoW: Forever addons with what each does and whether you have it: on, installed but turned off, or not installed. Copy link shows the addon's CurseForge address to copy into your browser.
- A quiet word about my other addons, only where it helps. With Adventure Guide Forever not installed, the quest menus show a grey Suggest quests for my level: Adventure Guide Forever under Plan journey, and once a session a journey you planned yourself that arrives with nothing more planned leaves a grey "What next?" line in the tracker for two minutes. With Legacy Forever not installed, hovering the pin of a journey that ends at a dungeon or raid door says in grey that Legacy Forever shows the challenges it counts toward. Clicking the menu entry or the tracker line shows the address to copy, with Don't suggest this again. Nothing shows for an addon you have, even switched off. Untick Suggest my other Forever addons on the Forever addons page (it's on by default) and none show.
- Credits. The README names the players who reported bugs or asked for features, and Polestar, which inspired some features; THIRD_PARTY.md has the full list.
For addon authors
- The shared
UI/ForeverFamily.lua(VERSION 3) is the same file in all five Forever addons. Each copy setsns.FamilytoForeverFamily.For(ns.L)(orns.FamilyL, for an addon whose L isn't keyed by English phrases), a view whoseShowLinkandCreatePanelread in that addon's own L, and in English where it has no entry. The link window has one global name,ForeverFamilyLink, kept on the module asForeverFamily.window. A call that names no L reads in the L of the copy in use, andADDONS[i].lineis the English line and its key in each addon's L. From VERSION 3 on, a newer copy takes over the global, puts the older copy's window away, and servesShowLinkandOncefor addons still holding the older copy's view.
