Severed UI Forever — Update 0.9.5 Patch Notes
Hey everyone,
Update 0.9.5 is officially live, and it’s a big one. This release tackles two massive areas of the UI: a complete overhaul of our inventory, vendor, and sorting architecture, alongside a major cleanup pass to kill screen clutter and roll out the first playable build of our Spatial Quest Planner.
If you'd rather watch the breakdown with side-by-side gameplay footage, check out the new 5-minute walkthrough up on the Severed Horizon YouTube channel!
Here is the full breakdown of everything that changed, what got removed, and how the new systems work.

1. Goodbye Route Bar & Arrow, Hello Clean Screen
The bulky route playback box stuck at the top of your screen and the rotating 3D compass arrow have been completely retired. They took up way too much screen real estate and felt dated.
What’s Gone: The top-center route bar, the compass arrow, and the old flight dropdown menu have been stripped from the viewport entirely.
What Stays: All the quality-of-life automation remains 100% untouched. NPCs still instant-accept and instant-turn-in your quests automatically (you can always hold Shift if you want to stop and read the quest text), and your T key will still automatically fire off quest-specific items like nets, darts, cages, or torches at your target.

2. The Spatial Quest Planner & Live Journal (Hotkey: G)
Instead of forcing you down a rigid, linear path with an arrow telling you where to walk, we've replaced the old system with an open, intelligent quest journal built for real decision-making.
Hit 'G' Anywhere: Tap G to bring up the planner. Don't worry about misclicks while chatting—the keybind automatically suppresses itself whenever your chat box is open so you won't accidentally pop open windows mid-sentence.
Live In-Log Tracking: Instantly see everything currently in your quest log sorted by distance, with clear color-coded badges separating what's still in progress from what’s ready for immediate turn-in.
Quest & Gear Inspector: Clicking any quest opens up a clean detail pane on the right. You get the quest giver, turn-in coordinates, active objective progress, and clickable reward previews with full item tooltips. This connects directly into our upcoming GearFinder so you can see which quests actually award upgrades for your spec.
Silent Telemetry Sniffing: Whenever you pick up, work on, or turn in quests in the world, the addon quietly records the exact coordinates, quest objectives, and reward tables directly to your client.

3. Inventory Engine: Bag Lockdown & The Vault
We gave the inventory engine a complete rework to make managing your bags painless and safe.
Autonomous Vault State Machine: Dragging and dropping an item onto the [+ LOCK] button now creates a dedicated, quarantined vault at the tail of your bags. Pulling an item out of lockdown automatically counts down the bay and compacts your remaining vault items forward—no ghost slots, and no accidentally wiping your locked setup.
1:1 Heads-Up Mirroring: Quick Inventory Bay 5 now dynamically mirrors your locked items in real time with distinct amber borders so you know exactly what’s safe from being sold or moved.
Zero Accidental Unlocks: Right-clicking an empty amber slot unlocks that specific slot directly without shuffling your items around.

4. Smart Inventory Sorting & Frame Rate Protection
If you ever noticed your screen stuttering or items ping-ponging across slots during a sort, that’s gone for good.
Invariant Forward-Only Sorter: We completely rewrote the internal item-swapping logic from scratch. The sorter now scans strictly forward through your bag space. This kills the loop bug where duplicate items—like identical weapons or stacks of cloth—would bounce back and forth endlessly.
100% Quarantine for Vault, Quest & Quiver Items: Clicking SORT cleans up your general inventory (Weapons/Armor by Quality → Consumables → Trade Goods → Junk) while leaving your locked vault gear, active quest items, and quiver completely untouched.
One-Click Completion: We stripped out premature iteration cutoffs, meaning your entire bag sorts cleanly from top to bottom on a single click.
96% Frame Hitch Squashed: Added coalesced event throttling. Rapid sorting events no longer trigger a flood of simultaneous UI redraws, eliminating that mid-sort frame freeze entirely.

5. The Severed Vendor Ledger
The old vendor helper has been rebuilt and rebranded into the Severed Vendor Ledger, sporting a sleek anthracite layout that automatically docks to the right side of the merchant window.
Live Sales Receipt: We added a running total to the bottom right of the ledger. Auto junk sales, bulk liquidation, individual row sales, and even manual right-clicks in your bags all tick up a live running tally of your gold, silver, and copper in real time.
Bulk Disposal Matrix: Added dedicated one-click liquidation buttons:
[ + UB WHITE ] / [ + SB WHITE ] (Unbound vs. Soulbound Common items)
[ + UB GREEN ] / [ + SB GREEN ] (Unbound vs. Soulbound Uncommon gear)
[ + SB BLUES ] (Soulbound Rare gear only) — 100% BoE Safe: This button strictly ignores tradeable blue drops. You can dump old dungeon and quest rewards without any risk of accidentally vendoring valuable world BoEs like Shadowfang.
Buttons dim down to 35% opacity whenever you don't have items matching that category, so you always know what’s actionable at a glance.

6. Quiver & Specialty Bag Isolation
Clean Boundaries: Loose arrows or soul shards sitting in your general bags will no longer spawn phantom slots in the Quiver Bay. The Quiver Bay now strictly mirrors the actual capacity of your equipped quiver, ammo pouch, or soul bag.
Quiver Fill Engine: The [FILL] button automatically pulls loose ammo and soul shards out of your backpack to top off partial stacks inside your specialty bag.
Quick Inventory Fallback: If you aren't playing a Hunter or don't have a quiver equipped, Quick Inventory Bay 3 turns into general bag overflow rather than sitting as an empty black tile.

7. Cartography & Node Radar: Zero-Bloat Performance Pass
If your client ever hitched on logout or your SavedVariables file ballooned with hundreds of thousands of lines of herbs and ores, that's completely handled.
On-Demand Zone Streaming: The 150,000+ world gathering nodes bundled with the addon are now loaded only when you're actually looking at that specific zone. Loading screens are snappy, and logging out is instantaneous.
Featherweight SavedVariables: The master node database stays inside the addon directory rather than writing into your personal WTF folder. Your saved file is now tiny (under 100 lines), making community syncing clean and painless.
Diablo Map Refinements: Filter buttons for Ores, Herbs, Chests, and Rares respond immediately, and interactive quest objects (water pitchers, crates, barrels) won't falsely mark themselves as treasure chests anymore.

8. Fixes & General Polish
Auction House Right-Click Staging: Fixed a missing frame reference that prevented right-click staging on modern auction house windows. Right-clicking an item in your bag while browsing the AH now swaps over to the Sell tab, stages the item, and maxes out the stack size automatically.
Dungeon Boss Loot Drops: Fixed an issue where BoP boss drops in 5-mans wouldn't auto-loot or pass roll prompts cleanly by hooking the confirmation handlers directly.

Chat Cleanup: Stripped out leftover developer debug prints from the chat window.

Why We're Doing This & What's Next. The goal here isn't to build another linear arrow-follower. We're building an open-world campaign engine:

The Crowdsource Pipeline: As everyone plays through Classic and Beta, your local sniffer records coordinates, hunting hotspots, and item rewards behind the scenes. When you drop your SeveredUI_Forever.lua into our Discord, our compiler digests everyone’s discoveries into the master database so the entire community benefits.

Triple-Profile Routing (In Active Development): Once the coordinate topology is fully locked down, the planner will let you swap between three distinct playstyles:

Speedrunner: Pure XP/hour optimization that batches clustered objectives and hub turn-ins.

Cartographer: 100% zone completion sweep using optimized paths to eliminate backtracking.

Loremaster: A narrative Main Scenario Quest (MSQ) progression tracking major storylines (Defias Brotherhood, Missing Diplomat, Centaur Blood Feuds) with clear travel director steps for zeppelins, boats, trams, and flight paths.

Grab the update, hit G in-game, and test out the new sorter and ledger. Drop your feedback, questions, or bug reports in the Discord—we're reading everything!
