Sekhmet
Sekhmet is a lightweight healing-awareness addon for WoW Classic: The Burning Crusade Anniversary.
It enhances the existing Blizzard unit frames rather than replacing them, adding incoming-heal prediction, absorb tracking, overheal visualization, and optional healer communication tools.
Sekhmet is designed primarily for healers, but its visual features are useful to any role. Tanks and DPS can keep incoming-heal prediction enabled without having to use any of the healer announcement features.
Heal prediction
Sekhmet paints incoming healing directly onto existing Blizzard health bars.
- Your incoming heals: bright pink
- Other players' incoming heals: yellow
- Overhealing: continues beyond the end of the health bar, up to 25% of maximum health
- Predictions remain visible even when the incoming heal would completely overheal
- Incoming heals are ordered by expected landing time where possible
- Cast timing uses the actual current cast duration, including haste effects
Sekhmet also handles healing effects that are not always represented correctly by the default incoming-heal API, including:
- Renew: displays the next upcoming tick rather than the entire remaining HoT
- Prayer of Healing: predicts healing across the affected party/subgroup
- Tranquility: predicts the next healing tick across affected players
Power Word: Shield tracking
Power Word: Shield is displayed as a translucent cyan overlay across the health bar.
The shield begins at 100% width when applied and contracts as the absorb is consumed. A bright cyan edge shows the current remaining shield integrity at a glance.
PW:S from any priest is tracked. Other unrelated absorb effects are intentionally ignored.
Optional healer communication
Sekhmet can announce important healer-related information to your party or raid.
Each communication feature can be toggled independently.
Mana
Mana warnings occur at:
- 25% — low mana
- 15% — critical mana
- 5% — effectively OOM
Dead players and ghosts do not generate mana warnings.
Aggro
Sekhmet distinguishes between:
- A hostile unit targeting the healer
- The healer actively taking damage from that same unit
These are separate alerts with independent 5-second cooldowns.
AoE or splash damage from an enemy targeting somebody else does not count as healer aggro.
Crowd control
Only CC that actually prevents the healer from casting is announced.
Examples include:
- Silence
- Fear
- Stun
- Polymorph/incapacitate
- Charm
- Relevant healing-school lockouts
Roots, slows, disarms and similar effects are intentionally ignored if healing can continue normally.
Healer-relevant debuffs
Sekhmet can also call attention to important debuffs affecting the healer or another group member, but only when:
1. The effect materially affects healing or survivability
2. You cannot dispel it yourself
3. Another current group member can
This avoids announcing problems nobody can solve or effects the healer should simply remove themselves.
Examples include severe healing reduction, dangerous curses, cast-speed impairment, resistance/defensive reductions and similar effects.
Whisper Mode
Don't want to annoy your group?
Enable Whisper Mode.
All enabled alerts continue to function, but they are displayed only to you instead of being sent to PARTY or RAID chat.
This makes Sekhmet usable as a completely private healer-awareness addon.
Spec awareness
Visual features remain active regardless of your specialization.
Communication features automatically stay silent while a non-healer specialization is active.
This means Sekhmet can remain installed and useful while swapping between healing, tanking and DPS specs.
