# Second Thoughts
**DON'T RELEASE! One last chance to reconsider your terrible post-death decisions.**
You died.
It happens.
Maybe the boss stepped on you.
Maybe you stood in something spicy.
Maybe your healer had *other priorities.*
Whatever happened, your mouse is now hovering dangerously close to **Release Spirit**.
**Second Thoughts** exists for this exact moment.
When you click Release Spirit in a protected raid or party, Second Thoughts stops you and asks one very important question:
**Are you SURE you want to explain why you got killed running back alone?**
Because there might be a Soulstone.
There might be a battle rez.
There might be a healer already trying to bring you back.
And there is almost certainly someone in raid who will remember that you released too soon.
## What It Does
Second Thoughts adds a confirmation step before releasing your spirit in the group types you choose.
You can protect yourself:
- In raids
- In parties
- In both
- Or, if you enjoy living dangerously, neither
Raid protection is enabled by default. Party protection is optional.
If Second Thoughts is not enabled for your current group type, Blizzard's normal Release Spirit behavior is left alone.
## The Important Part
Second Thoughts does **not** try to determine whether a Soulstone or battle resurrection is actually available.
It simply gives you one last opportunity to reconsider your choices before committing to the walk of shame.
The safe choice is still staying dead.
**We have standards.**
## Configuration
Type:
`/st`
to open the configuration window.
You can independently enable or disable protection for raids and parties.
Your settings are saved account-wide between sessions.
## Slash Commands
`/st` — Open configuration
`/st config` — Open configuration
`/st test` — Preview the confirmation dialog
The test command is completely safe to use while alive and will **never** release your character.
## Why Does This Exist?
Because this addon was requested **during an actual raid** after someone (Thank you Phayal!!) decided that perhaps raiders needed a second confirmation before releasing.
A working — if somewhat questionable — version was running before that same raid ended.
It has since acquired a repository, a configuration screen, actual deployment procedures, and considerably better judgment.
The raiders remain a work in progress.

**Think twice. Stay dead. Save yourself the explanation.**
