Scrutineer — The Mythic+ Update
The first major release since the 12.0.5 compatibility patch. Scrutineer evolves from a raid-only tool into a modular framework with full Mythic+ support, in-game diagnostics, and a heap of quality-of-life polish.
Highlights
Mythic+ is now supported. A brand new module brings the same applicant-filtering treatment to Mythic+ keystone listings — item level requirements per key range, plus an optional dungeon-completion check that's smarter than just looking at score.
Mouseover any applicant in your Group Finder list to see exactly why Scrutineer passed or failed them. Verdict + reasoning lines appear right below Blizzard's default tooltip, color-coded.
Custom minimap button for quick access — left-click to open settings, right-click to print your current listing's filter status. Drag to position. Includes a custom Scrutineer icon.
Notification sounds play when a new applicant first passes your filter. Choose from four built-in WoW sounds or five original Scrutineer chimes (fantasy & sci-fi flavored).
New Module — Mythic+
- Five item level thresholds, one per key range: +2-5 / +6-9 / +10-12 / +13-15 / +16+
- Push Level requirement (Off / At listed level / +1 / +2 / +3) — applicant qualifies if EITHER they timed your dungeon at the listed level with N chests, OR their best for your dungeon is N or more levels higher
- Multi-source key detection — works whether you hold the listed key in your bag or not:
- The level baked into the listing (when WoW provides it directly)
- Your own keystone, when its dungeon matches the listing
- The first "+N" found in your listing title
- The first "+N" found in your listing description
- Smart fallback chain — if you list "+12 PoS LF healer" without holding the key, Scrutineer reads "+12" from the title and proceeds normally
- Defensive RaiderIO data lookup across multiple version-specific data shapes
New Feature — Applicant Mouseover Tooltip
- Hover any applicant in the Group Finder list to see the verdict (PASS / FAIL / checking) plus per-check reasoning
- Verdict header shows which module evaluated them (Raid or Mythic+)
- Color-coded reasons: green for met conditions, red for failed, grey for context, orange for warnings (e.g., RaiderIO not loaded)
- Toggleable via the Show pass/fail in applicant tooltip checkbox in core options, or with the new
/scr tooltipchat command
Example tooltip on a passing M+ applicant:
Scrutineer (Mythic+): PASS Item level: 285 (need 270 for +10-12 keys) ✓ Best for Pit of Saron: +13 (timed +1 chest) ✓
New Feature — Minimap Button
- Custom Scrutineer icon on your minimap with circular border masking
- Left-click: open Scrutineer settings
- Right-click: print the current listing's filter status to chat
- Drag: reposition around the edge of your minimap; saved per character
- Conforms to non-round minimap shapes — works seamlessly with SexyMap and other custom UI minimap modifications (square, side, corner, tricorner all supported)
- Repositions automatically when the minimap is resized
- Toggle visibility via core options or
/scr minimap
New Feature — Notification Sounds
- Plays a sound when a new applicant first passes your filter
- Default: Bonus Loot toast
- Built-in WoW sounds: Bonus Loot, Ready Check, Quest Complete, Map Ping
- Original Scrutineer sounds (synth-generated, bundled with the addon, no external downloads):
- Crystal Chime (fantasy) — sparkly two-note rising harmonic chime
- Spell Bell (fantasy) — cathedral-bell inharmonic resonance with long ringing tail
- Sparkle (fantasy) — five-note ascending arpeggio with octave doubling
- Console Beep (sci-fi) — square-wave double pulse, digital edge
- Warp (sci-fi) — sawtooth frequency sweep with vibrato wobble
- Burst protection — a flood of qualifying applicants won't machine-gun the sound
- Per-applicant dedupe — the same person won't re-ring on every list refresh
- Test button in the panel to preview your chosen sound on demand
New Feature — Reset to Default
- Every options panel (Scrutineer, Raid, Mythic+) has a Default button in the top-right
- Confirmation prompt — Set [panel] options to default? Yes / No
- Resets only the panel you clicked from; other panels are left alone
- Visible widgets refresh in place — no
/reloadrequired
Architecture
- Scrutineer split into three add-on folders for modularity:
- Scrutineer (core framework — required)
- Scrutineer_Raid (raid evaluation)
- Scrutineer_MythicPlus (Mythic+ evaluation)
- Use only the modules you need — install raid + M+ together, or one without the other
- One shared saved variable with automatic one-time migration — your existing raid settings carry over untouched
- All raid evaluation logic moved into the Raid module unchanged: same item-level thresholds, kill requirements, Auto Mode, AOTC, and Cutting Edge handling
Improvements
Settings panels
- Panels reset to the top when you switch tabs and return — no more landing in the middle of a long page
- Plain-language pass on all in-game help text — dropped developer jargon throughout
- Tightened slider/label spacing in the Mythic+ key range options
- Closed visible gaps between paragraphs in "How It Works" sections via auto-sizing
- Highlight Colour change now repaints existing applicants immediately
- +2-5 key range label changed to grey for a softer "entry-level" visual weight
Mythic+ defaults
- Refined item level defaults: 240 / 260 / 270 / 280 / 285 across the five tiers
- Slider cap matches reality at 300 (was much higher); existing high values clamp on load
New chat commands
