The original Say My Name addon that is a very simple, incredibly lightweight addon that alerts you when someone says your name.
Notes
Now updated for current retail and Classic! MoP Classic, TBC Classic/Anniversary, and Classic Era (Era, Anniversary, and Hardcore realms).
100% lightweight: zero external libraries, zero dependencies. Settings are built entirely on Blizzard's own native Settings API, so the options panel lives right in your standard AddOns list — no separate window, no Ace3, nothing else to download.
About Say My Name
SayMyName plays a sound and relays the message to the middle of your screen when:
- Someone says your name (or any custom trigger word you add) in any monitored chat channel.
- Someone emotes at your name or the word "you".
- Someone drops a Fish Feast or a Great Feast nearby (best-effort).
All matched messages are also logged to ChatFrame7 so you can scroll back through them later — handy if you were AFK.

/smn optionsopens a real Blizzard Settings page, no separate frames or third-party UI toolkits. - Chat channel picker — choose exactly which channels are monitored: Say, Yell, Whisper, Party, Raid, Raid Warning, Instance, Guild, Custom Channels, Emotes.
- Sound control — turn the alert sound on/off, pick from 8 built-in sounds (with instant preview), choose the sound channel (Master/SFX/Music/Dialog), and set a cooldown so alerts don't spam.
- Name Triggers list — see, add, edit, and remove your trigger words right in the panel, no typing slash commands required.
- Ignore list — silence alerts from specific players.
- Fish Feast / Great Feast detection — get pinged when one drops.
- Nickname support — add any word or phrase as a trigger, not just your character name.
- No dependencies — nothing to embed, nothing else to install. Just the addon.
