Open a merchant and Rusty Merchant sells your grey items and anything on your Always sell list, then repairs your gear. One line in chat says what it did:

What it does
- Sells junk. Every grey item in your bags goes, a few at a time so the merchant never answers "That object is busy". Each slot is checked again right before it is sold, and selling stops the moment you close the window.
- Sells your list. Items on the Always sell list go too, whatever their quality: food you have outlevelled, reagents you never use.
- Keeps your list. Items on the Never sell list stay, even when they are grey.
- Repairs. After the selling, so the junk's gold helps pay. With the guild bank's gold first if your guild allows it (Retail); if the guild bank turns it down, your own gold pays and chat says so.
- Keeps count. Its page in the game's options (AddOns tab) shows what it has sold and repaired so far.
The lists
Both lists are shared by all your characters. Add an item by dropping it on the slot on the list's settings page, or from chat:

<item> is a shift-clicked item link or an item ID. On Retail, the addon compartment opens the settings too.
