Description
Ever run into a random quest giver and later found out they were in a Warcraft II mission? This addon tells you.
Warcraft Lore flags NPCs who also appear in the real-time strategy games and the novels:
- Warcraft: Orcs & Humans
- Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness and Beyond the Dark Portal
- Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne
- Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom
- Warcraft novels and short stories (labelled "Book", never presented as a game appearance)
130 confirmed veterans, from Thrall and Sylvanas to Tirion Fordring, Falstad Wildhammer and the goblins of Gadgetzan. Every one is checked against a source, and only characters you can actually meet in this version of the game are included.
What you get
- Tooltip line: veterans get one extra line, e.g. "Warcraft Veteran: WC3 · TFT", each game in its own color. Other NPCs stay clean.
- Lore window with a live 3D portrait: the veteran as they look in WoW today, inside a ring that glows in the game's colors. Their story comes first, then "Through the ages": every game appearance in release order with year and role, and the books as compact rows. A "Related" section links family, allies and rivals.
- Veterans list (
/wcl listor the minimap button): search by name or zone, filter by game, zone, campaign or met status. The zone picker shows how many you've met in each zone, and "This zone" jumps to where you are. - World map pins: see where veterans stand on the world map, green once you've met them. Hover for details, click for the story.
- Met counter for your whole account: target or mouse over a veteran to tick them off. Progress is shared by all your characters, and the tooltip shows how often you met them and with which character first.
- Calm alerts: a small glowing pill when a veteran is nearby. In cities you get one alert and one "Also nearby: …" line, not a flood.
- Settings page in the game's AddOns options, and export/import of your met list as a short text.
- Safe after patches: if a game patch changes something, only that feature switches off, with one chat line, instead of throwing errors.
