RPLingo

Give your outgoing roleplay chat a little race-flavored personality. RPLingo transforms your messages with randomized phrases and word choices while leaving incoming chat untouched. It’s a playful language-style addon, not a translation of WoW’s actual race languages.

The addon is based on Dwarvenizer and got updated to work with todays API chat hooks, added other races and support for the recent WoW interface. (Orginal: https://github.com/czottmann/wow-dwarvenizer-trollizer)

Available voices

Dwarven: Broad Scottish flavor, hearty slang, and “oh aye!”

Troll: Relaxed, easygoing patois and laid-back phrasing.

Orc: Direct, forceful, and resolute.

Night Elf: Elegant, spiritual, and lyrical.

Gnome: Playful, curious, and full of engineering talk.

Forsaken: Polite, slightly posh phrasing with a creepy undertone.

Skyborne: Very formal, noble, and refined.

Tauren: Calm, reflective, and rooted in nature and spirituality.

Features

Choose a voice per character and adjust the randomized slang chance.

Translate outgoing Say, Whisper, Party, Guild, Officer, Yell, Raid, Instance, and numbered channels 1–4.

Toggle individual chat groups in ESC → Options → AddOns → RPLingo.

Leave out-of-character messages beginning with (( unchanged.

Use the minimap button to toggle translation, open settings, or move the button with Shift-drag.

Getting started

Choose a voice with /rpldwarf, /rpltroll, /rplorc, /rplnelf, /rplgnome, /rplforsaken, /rplskyborne, or /rpltauren.

Use /rplingo to see your current status and available controls.

Set slang variation with /rplingo chance 0-10, a value of 0 disables translation.
Toggle a chat group with /rplingo toggle say (replace say with whisper, party, guild, officer, yell, raid, instancechat, or channel).
Show or hide the minimap button with /rplingo button on or /rplingo button off.


Plans for the future

- Implement more fitting phrases,  translations and accents
- enhance immersion through integrated emote usage & additional phrases, depending on character condition (actions like spells, combat actions, pet orders, resurrection, npc interaction, trading, and such)
