Description

RoyalSW-GearSim

Plan your next upgrades on a second character sheet, let the addon build gear sets for the stats you want, and sim them all on Raidbots.

RoyalSW-GearSim opens a character sheet of its own next to the game's. Put any item from this season in any slot, at any upgrade track and rank, with the gems, enchants and crafted stats you would really get, and see what your character sheet would read. Built for Midnight Season 2 (patch 12.1).

Opening it

  •  /gearsim  (or  /gsim ,  /rsgearsim ), the minimap button, or the addon list on the minimap.
  • Minimap button: left-click opens or closes the window, right-click goes straight to Target stats, drag moves it around the minimap.  /gearsim minimap  hides or shows it.
  •  /gearsim help  lists every command.

Planner

  • A sheet like the game's. Sixteen slots and a 3D model wearing the plan. Each slot shows its item level, its upgrade track or crafting tier, and what it still lacks (an enchant, a gem). A gold corner marks every slot that differs from what you wear. Left-click a slot to edit it, right-click to put your equipped item back.
  • Only the choices the game offers:
  • drops at the tracks their source can reach: raid Veteran to Myth, Mythic+ Champion to Myth, Delves and Prey up to Hero, or the fixed item level of the pieces above Myth 6/6;
  • crafted gear with Spark only, Hero or Myth Mistcrests, crafting rank 1-5, the stat pair by its real name (of the Fireflash, of the Harmonious...) and the embellishments that slot accepts;
  • random-stat BoEs by their suffix, and a tertiary stat on any drop;
  • the 12.1 Catalyst: the piece becomes your tier item, keeps its own stats, sockets and effects, and counts for the set bonus;
  • sockets, gems and enchants, with your primary stat respected.
  • Trending picks. Each slot's Trending list starts with what the top Mythic+ players of your spec wear, with player counts. Enchants and gems are ordered the same way. Your tier piece, this season's crafts, raid and Mythic+ loot, Delves, Prey, BoEs and your bags follow.
  • Saved sets. As many as you like per character. Each starts as a copy of what you wear and has its own flask.

Projected stats

The character sheet your plan would give you: item level, primary stat, stamina, health, armor, and every secondary and tertiary stat as both rating and percentage, with the change from now. It counts what the game counts:

  • your talents (class, spec and hero tree) that change a sheet stat;
  • spec passives: armor specialization, the tank stamina and armor auras, bonus crit;
  • racials, every race checked against the game's own data. Human, for example, is +2% to crit, haste, mastery and versatility rating from every source, applied before diminishing returns;
  • the form or stance you are in, and the set's flask;
  • diminishing returns on the game's own curve. Each stat's tooltip shows the numbers before and after, the bracket you are in, and the rating to the next breakpoint.

It also warns you about more than two embellishments, a unique-equipped item worn twice, two Eversong Diamonds, a two-hander with an off hand, and lost armor specialization.

Target stats

Type what your character sheet should read, then press Generate sets. Use any of crit, haste, mastery and versatility, each as a percentage ( 35% ) or as rating ( 1350 ). The addon looks through:

  • what you wear, your bags, your bank and your warband bank (open your bank once so the addon can remember it);
  • this season's Mythic+ loot and the current raid, with your tier set, at the upgrade track and rank you pick.

It then builds the sets that come closest. You always get one set that balances every target. With two or more targets, you also get one set per stat that reaches that stat first. Sets that come out the same, or that another set matches or beats on every target, are merged, so every set you see is a real trade-off.

  • Percentages become rating through the same math as the stats panel, with racials, talents, your flask and diminishing returns included.
  • Game rules are kept: unique-equipped items, two-handers, and at most two embellishments. Your tier bonus is kept through the Catalyst (keep the 4-piece, keep the 2-piece, or ignore it).
  • Optionally, it picks the gems and ring enchants that best close a target.
  • The same targets and the same gear always give the same sets.
  • It matches stats, not damage. Sim the sets to see which one wins.

Sim on Raidbots or SimulationCraft

  • From the planner: this set as your gear (Quick Sim), your equipped gear plus this set (Top Gear), or your equipped gear plus every saved set (Top Gear).
  • From Target stats: every generated set as a SimC profileset against your current gear. One SimulationCraft run (or Raidbots Advanced) ranks them all. The same sets are also available as Top Gear options, or one at a time.

Copy the text with Ctrl+C and paste it into the SimC input on Raidbots.

Where the numbers come from

RoyalSW-GearSim never estimates stats. It builds the item link the game would create (the item, its bonus IDs and its crafted stats), and the game client returns that item's stats and item level. Ratings become percentages through the game's own combat-rating table and diminishing-returns curves for your level. The season's item catalogue is generated from the current patch's game data.  /gearsim scan  reads the Adventure Guide in game and adds anything the catalogue lacks.

Good to know

  • Made for Midnight Season 2 (12.1.5). Each new patch or season needs an addon update with new data.
  • PvP gear (Honor and Conquest tracks) is not included.
  • Trending lists come from Mythic+ players. There is no raid popularity data.
  • The game only lets addons read the bank while it is open. Open it once, and again after you change it, so Target stats sees what is in it.
  • Proc and conditional effects are not added to the sheet. Hover the summary line to see what was counted and what was not.
