TEAM alerts: when a group's team rating estimate lands in your rating
range, Ringer fires a distinct TEAM alert (chat, banner, sound,
flash) and the heartbeat chip shows a team count. Groups stay in the
Groups tab; coverage ("2/5 rated") rides every alert. Toggle in
Settings > Alerts.
Group rows lead with the team estimate ("team ~1484 (1/4 rated)")
built from every rated member; the full breakdown stays in the
roster tooltip.
Match rows show how long each player has been visible ("3m") instead
of a clock time; first-seen survives quiet refreshes.
Ten alert sounds: Raid Warning, Bell Toll (both factions), Party
Invite, Ready Check, Alarm Clock, Level Up, Whisper, Murloc, and
Custom - drop an alert.ogg into the Ringer folder and pick Custom.
The Preview button plays whatever's selected; List/Update plays the
same sound as Blizzard's own Post button.
Reliability: sweeps now ride only contexts the client fully permits
(world mouse input, action-bar presses, Ringer clicks) - the old
movement-function hooks could draw ADDON_ACTION_BLOCKED lines in
error-catcher addons. Sweeps hold during combat and resume on your
next input; a watchdog backs off briefly if the client ever blocks a
call. Default UI users never saw or see any of this.
Alert color picker: a Ringer-styled panel docked left of the main
window with live sample, RGB sliders, and presets. The color styles
banner text only; names keep class colors and the screen flash keeps
its native warning red. Preview stars your character.
"Hide 'no rating data' players in Solo" now also excludes them from
the heartbeat's listed count.
Settings panel matches the main window's frame style, attaches to
its right edge, and scales with it; window-scale slider resizes
around the window's center, applied after the drag settles.
Self-listing: Healer/DPS role ticks (same API as Blizzard's role
boxes), note box holds its position against Blizzard re-anchors, and
clicking anywhere - including the game world - releases typing focus.
The window never auto-opens at login; alerts and the heartbeat chip
arm themselves if it was open at logout. Snooze and the minimize
button are gone; the credit reads in brand gold.
2.19.0 (2026-07-17)
Settings panel (gear icon on the title bar): alert toggles (sound /
banner / flash / favorites alarm) with a Preview button, sweep
interval slider, start-sweeping-at-login option, heartbeat chip and
minimap bell toggles, window scale, hide-'no rating data'-in-Solo,
reset positions, clear alert memory, and a database info line.
List yourself from Ringer: brackets + note (Blizzard's own secure
comment box, adopted) + List/Update and Delist buttons with live
status; clicking anywhere - even the game world - releases the note
box's typing focus.
Players already in a group no longer duplicate into Matches; the
heartbeat chip shows live match count ("2 matches - 14 listed - 9s
ago") with uniform separators.
2.18.0 (2026-07-17)
List yourself from Ringer: a new section under Specs - tick 2s/3s/5s
(plus the new-players flag), type an optional note, and hit List me;
a separate Delist button sits below it, with live Listed status.
The note box is Blizzard's own secure comment field living inside
Ringer, so what you type travels with the listing natively.
Bracket tags read [2s-3s-5s]; "no rating data" replaces the below-
cutoff wording; footer counts answered sweeps and retries fast when
overdue; heartbeat chip enlarged.
2.17.4 (2026-07-15)
Heartbeat chip: a tiny movable proof-of-life ("14 listed - 9s ago")
that appears only while the Ringer window is closed - gold when sweeps
are answering, amber with the reason when stale. Click opens Ringer,
drag moves it, right-click hides it (/ringer hud brings it back).
The minimap bell pulses softly each time a sweep is answered.
Minimap right-click toggles Ringer on/off (bell grays out while
disabled); footer buttons resized and balanced.
2.17.0 (2026-07-14)
Rebranded: Arena Radar is now Ringer - new bell icon and art, /ringer
command (/ringer still works). Same addon, same author, new name.
The hands-off release: the Blizzard LFG window is never needed again.
Open Ringer (/ringer) once per session and sweeping starts - no LFG
window, no category clicks, no refresh button, ever. The addon arms its
own arena search at login, satisfies the client's window requirement
invisibly and silently during each sweep, and stays completely dormant
until you open Ringer.
Full rosters everywhere: member names, classes, and roles for every
listing read straight from the LFG data - no more hovering to learn who
is in a group.
New Favorites tab: every current listing from players you've favorited
(right-click any row), independent of your filters - and favorites fire
a raid warning + distinct horn the moment they appear in LFG, even when
nothing matches your criteria.
New "Trust LFG role tags" option: when a player's self-assigned LFG
role contradicts their armory spec (they respecced), the tag wins for
matching and the row is flagged "listed Healer".
Multi-bracket listings fixed: players listing 2v2+3v3+5v5 at once now
match and display in every bracket they list ([2v2/3v3/5v5] tags) -
previously they could vanish entirely.
Smarter sections: matched players live in Matches only (no Solo
duplicates); blank filters browse everything quietly; Reset clears all
result lists instantly.
Layout: more room for results, four result tabs, watermark fits the
window instead of a zoomed crop; rating boxes click-to-clear with
"any" / "no max" placeholders; larger sound button.
Deep fixes: search-argument persistence across /reload (background
sweeps had been silently degraded after every reload), a sweep-driver
timestamp deadlock, and a window-state check that misread a child
frame - together these were why data had only ever flowed with the LFG
window open.
Diagnostics: /ringer sweepdiag traces one search end-to-end; /ringer
routediag traces every sweep decision for 60 seconds.
2.12.0
Release build. Guaranteed fresh sweeps riding normal gameplay input,
with a live heartbeat and measured server cadence in the footer.
Sync system: background daemon fetches armory profiles for every
LFG-seen player within seconds of a reload; one-click in-game Sync
with a printed verdict; special-character names fully supported.
Alert stack: sound, raid warning, low-health-style screen flash,
sticky starred rows that hold position.
Member-name harvesting from Blizzard's tooltip; per-member ratings;
new-players-welcome icons; exact leader identification.
Rating parser hardened against UI escape codes, redacted comments,
and gearscore false-positives; labeled ratings ("1506 cr") take
priority.
Quality of life: Tab between rating fields, Enter to confirm; window
remembers open state across reloads; focus releases on outside
clicks.
2.5 - 2.11
Iterative development: single-window UI, watchlist pipeline, tooltip
harvest, trend arrows, bracket tags, ladder floors, flight-recorder
diagnostics.
