RexUI – 3D Portrait Fallback Update (Retail)

Improved Unit Frame Portrait Handling

• Added automatic 2D portrait fallback when a 3D model cannot be loaded.

• 3D portraits remain enabled for supported units, including players and friendly NPCs.

• Improved portrait handling for hostile NPCs and bosses affected by WoW Retail API restrictions.

• Removed an unreliable creature model fallback that could cause black portraits.

• Preserved manual 2D/3D portrait settings for Player, Target, Focus, and Boss unit frames.

• Improved compatibility with WoW Retail's secret-value restrictions.

How it works:

• 3D selected: Displays the animated 3D portrait when available, otherwise falls back to 2D when the API reports a loading failure.

• 2D selected: Always displays the standard 2D portrait.

Note: Some hostile NPCs and bosses may still show black 3D portraits if the WoW API reports a successful model load despite rendering no visible model. In these cases, manually selecting 2D remains available.
