RendMC – Warchief’s Blessing Mind Control Helper

RendMC is a lightweight helper addon for organizing Mind Control queues for Warchief’s Blessing runs in Classic Era.

It’s designed for the people doing the mind controlling with Gnomish Mind Control Cap and anyone nearby running the addon. RendMC helps you:

• Collect players into a first come, first served queue via /salute
• Coordinate multiple mind controllers sharing the same queue
• Track who is currently claimed and ready to be controlled
• Show nearby RendMC users and their claimed targets
• Warn about incoming Warchief’s Blessing with a shared timer, overlay, and sound cues

What RendMC Does

Queue & Claim System

• Watches /salute emotes nearby:
• When someone salutes, they are added to the queue.
• All nearby RendMC users share & merge their queues so join order is preserved.
• Shows a scrollable “MC Queue”:
• You can click a name to claim that target.
• Lists players using the addon near you.
• Shows which target each user intends to Mind Control (“X will Mind Control Y”).

Mind Controller Tools

In the RendMC window, you get a dedicated control panel:

• Claimed target: … – shows who you’ve currently claimed.
• Next MC Target – claims the first person in the queue.
• Cast Mind Control – secure button that:
• targets your claimed player
• uses Gnomish Mind Control Cap
• casts Mind Control
• Clear Target – clears your claimed target locally (does not change the queue for others).
• Release Target – releases your claimed target and puts them back at the top of the queue for everyone.
• Reset Queue – clears your local queue and requests a fresh queue from nearby RendMC users.
• Duel Target – challenges your claimed target to a duel.
• Claim Current Target – claims whoever you are currently targeting, even if they weren’t in the queue, and broadcasts that claim to all RendMC users.

All claim & release actions are shared between nearby RendMC users via addon messages, so multiple controllers don’t accidentally pick the same person.

Warchief’s Blessing Timer & Herald Detection

RendMC also helps you anticipate the buff timing:

• When the “Herald of Thrall” nameplate appears on screen: RendMC starts a 20-second Warchief’s Blessing timer.
• It plays a configurable start sound and an optional final 5 seconds warning sound.
• It also does:
• /yell Warchief's Blessing in 20s!!
• /guild Warchief's Blessing in 20s!! (if you’re in a guild)

Commands & Controls

Slash Commands

• /rendmc
  Toggle the main RendMC window on/off.
• /rendmc options
  Open the RendMC settings panel.

Minimap Button

RendMC adds a minimap button:

• Left-click – toggle the main window.
• Right-click – open the options panel.

Options

In Interface → AddOns → RendMC (or /rendmc options), you can configure:

• Auto sync on load
  Automatically requests a queue sync a few seconds after you log in.
• Announce claims in /say
  When enabled, claiming a target announces in /say:
  Claimed <name> for Mind Control!
• UI scale
  Adjust the size of the main RendMC window (0.8 – 1.5).
• Play sound when buff timer starts
  Raid-style warning sound when the WCB timer begins.
• Play sound in final 5 seconds
  Extra warning sound as the timer hits the last 5 seconds.

How To Use (Practical Flow)

For Mind Controllers (using Gnomish Mind Control Cap)

1. Install & enable RendMC.

2. Make sure enemy nameplates are enabled so Herald detection can work.

3. Go to the buff spot at southern Crossroads Tower where Herald of Thrall spawns.

4. When players /salute, they’ll be automatically added to the queue.

5. Open the RendMC window (/rendmc or via minimap button).

6. Use:

• Next MC Target to claim the next waiting player, or
• Click their name in the MC Queue list, or
• Use Claim Current Target if you’ve targeted someone manually.
• When ready to Mind Control:
• Hit Cast Mind Control to target them, use your cap, and cast.

If something goes wrong:

1. Release Target to put them back at the top of the queue for everyone.
2. Clear Target to drop your claim and not return the target to the list.
3. If your queue looks odd: Press Reset Queue to clear your local queue and pull a fresh one from nearby RendMC users.

For Players Wanting the Buff

• Make sure you’re in range of the MCers and simply:
• Type /salute (or use the Salute emote).
• As long as at least one MC is running RendMC:
• You’ll be added to their queue.
• They will see your name and class when possible.
• Your position in the queue is merged fairly across multiple controllers.
