RealmTalk
Experimental offline English-Spanish chat translation for TBC Anniversary. Runs entirely inside WoW using a Lua adaptation of Apertium linguistic resources.
Features
- Adds approximate Spanish translations below incoming English messages, preserving the original.
- Prepares English translations of Spanish drafts in the native chat box. Review the preview, then press Enter again to send.
- Independent buttons control incoming translation and outgoing translation. Choose Enviar original to send Spanish unchanged. Settings are saved.
- No external application, API key or subscription.
Alpha limitations
Translations can contain grammatical errors or change meaning, even when all words are recognized. Slang, short messages, missing accents and complex sentences remain unreliable. Review outgoing messages before sending. Basic whispers and chat controls were tested by the author in TBC Anniversary 2.5.6.70577. Other channels, combat, performance and interactions with other addons need broader testing. Linguistic data uses substantial memory. Restricted messages are skipped and heavy traffic may exceed the bounded translation queue. Forever compatibility is not verified.
Commands
Use /realmtalk ayuda for help, /realmtalk prueba for a local test, /realmtalk original to send unchanged text, /realmtalk ingles to translate outgoing drafts, and /realmtalk entrante to toggle incoming translation. The legacy /puente alias and internal PuenteChat folder preserve earlier settings.
License and credits
