What's new

Realm Legends

One package: KeyScout for retail (Mythic+ groups) and TagAlong for WoW Forever (quest groups).

1.1.3

TagAlong 0.2.4 (WoW Forever).

  • Nearby players on your quests. While you're solo, TagAlong players within shouting range who share a quest with you are listed on the panel before you ever meet at the mobs; click one to group up. Your quest list goes out as a hidden shout on your key presses, about once a minute, so their TagAlong can list you too (nobody sees it in chat). Settings > Finding players > Nearby players on my quests (or /ta nearby off) turns it off.

KeyScout is unchanged in this release.

1.1.2

TagAlong 0.2.3 (WoW Forever).

  • No more "No player named … is currently playing." The game's Recent Allies list can keep calling a player online after they log off, and TagAlong's quiet question to them made the server print that line every couple of minutes. The first such answer now takes the player off TagAlong's list until the game updates its data, and the line stays out of chat when it answers one of TagAlong's own hidden messages (your own whispers still show it).

KeyScout is unchanged in this release.

1.1.1

TagAlong 0.2.2 (WoW Forever).

  • A hello with every invite. An invite TagAlong sends on its own now comes with one whisper saying why: "We're both on <quest>, sending you an invite so we both get credit", "We grouped up before" for someone you've played with, or "We both run TagAlong" for another TagAlong player. Players who asked for the invite get it without the line. In the other player's language when it can tell. Settings > Messages > Hello with invites (or /ta hello off) brings the wave back instead.
  • Recent allies on your quests (0.2.1). While you're solo, the panel lists online players you grouped with before who run TagAlong and are on one of your quests, with the quest and their zone; click one to group up. TagAlong asks them quietly and only with the quests you share; only their TagAlong answers, and only to players in their own recent allies.

KeyScout is unchanged in this release.

1.1.0

TagAlong 0.2.0 (WoW Forever), first release. Groups you with the players around you who are on the same quest, one step per key press you already make.

  • Finds quest-mates by itself. Hit a quest mob someone else tagged and your next key press invites them, with a wave. Players who also run TagAlong group up quietly, without any chat.
  • Groups last as long as they should. You stay together while you share quests, wait for a partner who still needs a few kills, and hold the group after a turn-in for the follow-up. When nothing is shared any more it says thanks and leaves, unless anyone presses Keep group. Groups with friends or guild mates are never touched.
  • Shares quests that fit, takes the ones the group shares with you, and says when someone can't take one yet.
  • Named mobs: a target macro that follows the named mob you're hunting, a sound when it respawns, and Call group to gather everyone waiting for it.
  • Recent allies: players you grouped with before are marked, invited without delay, and shown when they're in your zone.
  • The panel above the chat shows what's happening, what your next key press does, and the group's members. Settings (or /ta settings) opens every option in the game's own options window. /ta help lists commands.
  • Whispers and thanks add a line in the other player's language when it can tell.

KeyScout is unchanged in this release (its files were only reorganised for the shared package).

KeyScout

1.0.7

  • The minimum match in force. While Widen Over Time has lowered it, the panel's Loadout says so next to Minimum match ("now 70" in amber) and the Filters on line shows the number in force. Your own number stays as you set it. The Swap slots buttons now explain in their tooltip what each preset does, and that swapping never lowers the match: Widen Over Time does.
  • Tank or Healer. With both must-haves ticked you can choose Both (as before) or Either: a group with a tank or a healer passes, only one with neither is skipped (Filters > Group, and an Either box on the panel's Must have row while both are ticked). Listings skipped for it say "Neither a tank nor a healer in the group yet".
  • You're in! stays up when you zone in and closes when the key starts, so you can read the group's numbers on the way to the Font of Power. The panel's Group info and /ks group still reopen it.
  • Your keystone goes into the Font of Power by itself when you open it and your key is for that dungeon (Applying > Behaviour, on by default; a key for another dungeon stays in your bags). Chat says which key went in when KeyScout's chat lines are on.

1.0.6

  • The game's own look. KeyScout's windows are now built from the game's standard pieces: the settings window and You're in! are the game's framed windows (title bar, round portrait, red close button, inset pages), the panel sits on the game's dark tooltip-style backdrop, and the buttons, check boxes, text fields, scroll bars, column headers and dividers are the game's own. Gold labels, white values, grey notes, like every Blizzard page.
  • Less text on the pages. The explanations moved into tooltips: hover a section title, a button or a column header to read how something works; the pages themselves show only what is set and what is happening. Resets and removals ask in the game's Yes / No dialog instead of a second click.
  • Keys with KeyScout (Stats tab) replaces Recent Groups: a summary line with a timed / over time / not finished bar and the chest counts, then a sortable table of every run: when, the dungeon with its icon, the key, the result, the time, the time to spare, deaths, the result score and the group's average rating. Click a column to sort, hover a run for the group and your notes, click it for its You're in! window; the red x at the end removes it. Switch to Dungeons for your record in each dungeon: runs, timed, your best there next to the season's best the game has, average time, deaths, score and when you last ran it. KeyScout now keeps your last 100 runs per character (it was 20).
  • Leaders as a table. Rank, leader, rating, applied, invited (with the rate), declined, joined, keys timed and average invite time; click a column header to sort, hover a row for every number, click it for the runs you recorded with that leader (a table too).
  • You're in! shows the dungeon's icon in the window's portrait; the Vault Goals and Share pickers are small game-style popups.

1.0.5

  • Minimum match starts at 75. KeyScout no longer applies to groups whose match (the number on each row) is under 75. If you never changed it, yours moves from 20 to 75; a number you picked yourself stays. It's now on the panel too: Loadout > Minimum match (also in Settings > Applying).
  • Widen Over Time lowers the minimum match. Each step without an invite also drops the minimum match by 5 (never below 50), next to the extra key level. Chat tells you the new numbers; joining a group or turning KeyScout off and on puts them back.
  • After a key, everything in one row. The You're in! window (and Recent Groups) keeps each member's rating, item level and best run there, and adds their DPS, damage and HPS beside them; the window widens for it.
  • One leader. When the leader leaves and the game hands the lead to someone else, only the leader whose group you joined says leader; the new one says took lead, and anyone who left during the key is marked left.
  • More Rather not reasons: Low damage, Undergeared, Missed kicks, Ignored mechanics.

1.0.4

  • Realm groups. The OCE choice is now one choice per realm group: Oceanic, Brazil and Latin America, each Any / First / Last (First puts their groups at the top of your list, +20; Last puts them at the bottom, -20, and never skips them). The tooltips give the reason you might pick one: Oceanic realms are hosted in Australia (higher ping to and from North America); Brazilian and Latin American groups mostly speak Portuguese and Spanish. The panel's Loadout has a Realms row with all three (click to step through Any, First, Last). Playing in one of these groups yourself gives its leaders a small nudge (+6), as it already did for Oceanic players. Your OCE setting carries over. The groups only count in the US region, since EU reuses some of these realm names.
  • Quick phrases. A small bar of icon buttons for your group's chat. It opens by itself when someone in the group plays in another realm group than you (set it to Always or Off on the Chat tab), and the panel's Phrases link brings it back. On it: the other players with their role icon and name in class colour (pick one to start the line with their name), four phrases for any time (wait, need to drink, be right back, sorry), and Before / During / After tabs picked for the moment you're in. Before: ready?, check your spec and talents, good luck. During: kill first, kill order, CC this, don't attack, kick this one, stay on (pick the raid marker), slow down, smaller pulls, kick the casts, wait for the tank, Lust now, use defensives, let's finish. After: thanks, want to run again?, what key do you have? When someone plays on a Brazilian or Latin American realm the line adds Portuguese or Spanish, and with Oceanic players it uses their wording ("Keen for another?", "Cheers legends, good run!"); each can be set to Auto, Always or Off. During a key the game doesn't let addons send chat, so there the line waits in your chat box for you to press Enter; you can choose that for every line too. Test It shows the bar solo with a pretend group, and clicks only print in your own chat. /ks phrases opens it; /ks phrases test tests it.
  • Phrase wheel, the Quick phrases the way the game's pings work. Bind a key (Key Bindings > KeyScout > Phrase wheel), hold it, point at a wedge and let go; a quick tap keeps the wheel open to click instead. The wedges are the phrases for the moment you're in, coloured with the pings' meanings (red attack, yellow warning, green assist, blue social; the bar's icons use the same colours). Rest on Kill first, CC this or Kick this one and the raid markers open in place; More holds the rest. Lines meant for a person go to the player picked on the bar, or else to your target when it's a party member; the centre says who. The line your group will see shows under the wheel as you point. /ks wheel opens it too.
  • While KeyScout is off, the panel's footer says to turn it on (the ON button) instead of waiting for your next key press.

1.0.3

  • Scout Report. The Stats tab's Speed lines are now a card you can screenshot and share: your typical wait for an invite, groups joined, keys timed (and your best), invite rate, time to a group, and ten badges to earn (First Pull, Quick Draw, Full House, Ten Up and more; hover one to see what earns it). Open it with the Scout Report button on the Stats tab; the strip under it tells you your screenshot key. With Preview Mode on, the card shows "Anonymous Scout" of "Azeroth" instead of your name and realm.
  • Time to a group and slots filled now count only while you're looking: an application is out, or you pressed a key in the last 30 seconds. Standing in town with KeyScout on no longer counts. Older numbers measured the old way start over.
  • Invite rate (Stats and the Scout Report) now counts only groups that answered: invites against leaders' declines. Groups that filled up or delisted, and applications KeyScout swapped for a better group or cancelled, no longer drag it down. Your earlier invites and declines carry over once (the old declines also held some full groups, so it can start a little low). The Decline rate is gone (it was the other side of the same number).
  • Stats are now kept per day as well as in total, so later versions can show them by week, month or year and how you are trending. Nothing to see yet; your totals are unchanged.
  • You're in! and Recent Groups keep each member's final damage, DPS, healing and HPS from the game's damage meter for the key (its own "Dungeon +level" session). The game hides those numbers while you're in combat, which is usually when a key ends, so KeyScout reads them as soon as combat is over (for up to three hours, until the next key resets the meter). Older groups get them from the Run Recorder where it has them, and the Run Recorder gets the numbers it missed. After the key, the window's number columns show DPS (the group's best in green), damage and HPS. When the game's meter has nothing readable, the columns show "-".
  • Recent Groups: a group you left before its key started now says "No key started" instead of showing no result.
  • "Invites you accepted" no longer counts the other invites the game drops when you accept one: only invites you declined yourself count against it.
  • Smart mode shows one line under the Step: "Queueing for +11 to +13 in 3 dungeons", which turns green as "Searching exactly +11 to +13 in 3 dungeons" once the search box matches. The "From +10" part and the repeated "Searching exactly" line under it are gone (the line only comes back as a warning when the search box disagrees with your levels). The Keys tab drops "From your best runs" the same way.
  • Enrage removal. You're in! shows whether your group can remove Enrage: green when you have the talent yourself, "ask <name>" when a Hunter, Druid, Rogue or Evoker is in the group (it's a talent for all of them, so ask rather than assume), red when nobody can.
  • Group Readiness: having timed a dungeon at exactly the key's level no longer counts as full experience. Timing it one or two levels higher counts for more, so a group where everyone is at their best here reads a little lower than before.
  • Run Recorder: a key that ends early (vote, reset, or everyone leaving) now keeps the game's meter numbers too (deaths, interrupts, damage taken), when the meter still has them.
  • KeyScout reads a listing's minimum M+ Rating of 2-40 as its key level, like the item level box, so leaders who put the level there show it exactly.

1.0.2

  • Match score: a group where you'd take the last spot, that has no Bloodlust/Heroism, and where you can't bring it, loses points (10 from +10, 5 at +7 to +9, 2 below) and can't score above 80 from +10 (90 at +7 to +9), since many leaders hold that spot for lust. With two spots left it loses 4 from +10. A missing battle res works the same way, milder (6 points, at most 90 from +10). Hover a group to see it in the breakdown.
  • You're in! window: a checkbox at the bottom turns off its automatic opening (it stays on for new players). Chat says how to reopen it and where to turn it back on (Settings > Chat, "You're in! window on joining").

1.0.1

  • The menu has a sidebar: pages grouped as Start here (Keys, Filters), Fine-tune (Applying, Search, Chat, Panel) and Your history (Listings, Stats, Insights, Leaders), with Help at the bottom, so the simple pages come first.
  • Keys tab: Vault Goals moved into the Great Vault section, with more room around it.
  • The Great Vault (Mythic+) summary moved from the Stats tab to the bottom of the Keys tab, one column per slot.
  • Recent Groups: each group has an X to remove just that one (click it twice). The list shows 11 groups at a time now.
  • Recent Groups no longer keeps groups that never became a run: if no key started and the party never filled, the group is dropped when you leave it. Older ones like that are cleared at login.
  • Leaders: Most Invites only lists leaders who invited you at least once.
  • Share KeyScout: the "Trying an addon" line now says KeyScout is free on CurseForge instead of in beta.

1.0.0

  • First full release, with the same features as 1.0.0-beta3. KeyScout now comes with the CurseForge app's default Release setting, so you don't need to switch to Beta to get it.

1.0.0-beta3

  • Share KeyScout: the lines you can send to your group no longer say the addon is hidden or to ask you for a link. KeyScout is listed on CurseForge now, so they tell people to search for it there.

1.0.0-beta2

  • KeyScout rests on characters below max level, since Mythic+ is closed to them: the panel stays closed (type /ks or use the minimap button to open it anyway) and the engine won't turn on, with one line in chat saying why. The very first time you install KeyScout it opens on whatever character you're on, so you can find it and look around. Your ON switch is kept for when you get there: on reaching max level KeyScout says it's ready, the panel opens, and it's back as you left it.

1.0.0-beta1

  • First beta: same features as 1.0.0-alpha6, now listed in CurseForge search and the CurseForge app. Set the addon to Beta under Preferred Release Type in the app to get it.

1.0.0-alpha6

  • Match score: the leader's best run in the dungeon now counts against the key level instead of just "timed or not": timed 2+ levels higher +8, at the key or one higher +5, one or two below nothing (that's normal pushing), three or more below -3, and no run there -3 ("Leader has no run in this dungeon", which used to read "-3 Leader timed this dungeon").
  • Group Readiness learns how far apart your groups really land: when high readiness has been overpromising and low readiness underselling, it's pulled toward your average (gently at first, more as keys add up; never below 0.6x). On the keys so far this cut the average miss against the result from about 10 points to about 7.
  • Fixed: right after you joined a group, its leader could count as someone you'd played with before (the application that got you in counted as history), and clicking them showed the group you were in. Players from other realms were also saved twice, once without their realm, which doubled their counts; the duplicates are cleaned up on load. Players you rated now match as leaders from other realms too.
  • Match score: a group with a player the game flags for leaving keys loses 8 points (16 for two or more), and players you rated after a run count: Rather not -10 each (-14 if you tagged them Left or Toxic, -28 at most), Play again +4 each (+8 at most).
  • Your pending applications are scored with the same information as new ones (leader history, realms, your ratings), so Swap Slots cancels the one that's really the weakest.
  • You're in! window: Group Readiness now shows how the group looked when you signed up, "At sign-up 58 · +14", in green when it turned out better and red when worse. At sign-up the listing only shows the leader's run and everyone's class; once you're in, everyone's runs, ratings and gear count, and the line keeps updating as players join.

1.0.0-alpha5

  • Suggested sign-up note shows your highest key and average key ("best +15, avg +12", from your best run in each dungeon) in place of "kick": a leader can tell more from those two numbers.
  • Panel in Smart mode: the extra "Levels +10 to +12" line under "From ... · Queueing for ..." is gone, since it said the same thing twice. The search text to copy is centred in a narrower box.
  • Group tooltip, Utility section: the classes that bring lust, battle res, Augmentation and interrupts are named in their class colours instead of all green.
  • Smart and Range tooltips are written for players now: what Smart does for you, and that switching back to Range or Exact keeps your levels.
  • Filters tab: the Skip Sellers and Avoid Decliners explanations moved into their tooltips (they were two long paragraphs that ran into the OCE row), and the switches sit side by side. Realms have their own short section: the OCE choice, then the realms you skip (click to stop) and the realms seen lately (click to skip). The type-a-realm box is gone; /ks blockrealm <realm> still adds one by name.
  • Missing Portals disappears from Smart Select once every portal is earned, since it has nothing left to do for the season, and the other buttons close the gap; the tip under them drops its sentence too. The other picks always stay, even when they'd select nothing right now, so the row never rearranges under a click.
  • Plan by dungeon now decides the levels. With it on, every ticked dungeon is queued at its own level: your best timed run there plus the Keystone step you pick (+0 to +5; a dungeon you only finished over the timer stays at that level, one you never ran takes your key level). Tick or untick a dungeon, change the step, or let a Smart Select pick for you, and the levels follow; one search text covers all of them, and the panel and the Keys tab tell you when it changes. The level buttons ("+11 · 3 dungeons") tick every dungeon that lands on that level. Change the key level yourself and the plan turns off: one level for all again. Missing Portals, Below Key and Shortest still mean one level for everything they pick; Push Higher, Lowest Rated and Fewest Chests turn the plan on.
  • Smart Select buttons light up while their pick is exactly what is ticked, the same highlight as All Dungeons and the level buttons, so you can see which one you're on. Tick or untick anything by hand and none of them matches, so they all go dark.
  • Keys tab rows: the best level, its chests and the score sit in three aligned columns under their own titles (Best / Chests / Score), so "+10 (+2)" no longer reads like arithmetic and the numbers line up whether or not a row is ticked. With the plan on, the third column is Queue: the level each dungeon queues at, dim on unticked rows. Hover a row for the full story: time against the timer, score, timer, portal, and the plan's level.
  • Panel: while the plan is on, one line says what you'll queue for, "Queueing for +11 to +12 in 4 dungeons" with the levels in green ("Will queue for" while KeyScout is OFF), in place of the list of dungeon names it used to print, and Step 1 below carries the matching search text. The plan itself is listed in the footer with the other filters ("Filters on: Plan by Dungeon, Keystone +2"), where Clear turns it off too. The Keys tab shows the same line in place of the key stepper, with Exact / Up to +2 / ±1 beside it.
  • The amber "needs +12: a lower key there can pop" warning is gone. With the plan giving every dungeon its level there is nothing left to warn about.
  • The settings window's footer reads "Pending 0/5" (green) instead of "Pool 0/5".
  • Panel steps, said plainly: Step 1 is "Copy the text below into the Premade Groups search box (the LFD button opens it) and press Enter or Refresh. We'll use your filters below for the rest." Step 2 is "Click ON and keep playing. As you press your keybinds, KeyScout looks for a group with you." No more Ctrl+C lecture, and nothing that sounds like it all happens without you. The Help tab's Getting Started says the same.
  • Two resets instead of one. The settings window's footer button is now Reset..., opening a small panel with Reset Filters and Reset Settings, each a two-click confirm with a line on what it touches. Reset Filters puts everything that decides which groups you get back to a fresh install: key level and dungeons, Apply As, must-haves and skips, rating and match limits, realm skips and Blizzard's own Premade Groups filter. Reset Settings does everything else: chat lines and alerts, applying, panel and window options. The panel stays where you put it, and neither touches your keybind setup, stats, leader history or blocked leaders. /ks reset filters, /ks reset settings, or /ks reset for both.
  • Three ways to choose levels, side by side. Key Level now opens with a choice, on the panel (right of the stepper) and on the Keys tab: Exact Level (the default: one level for every ticked dungeon, with Accept to widen it a little), Range (Lowest to Highest) and Smart (was Plan by Dungeon). The row under it changes with the choice: Key level + Accept, Lowest + Highest, or Step + Accept. Smart means Smart Filters recommend dungeons from your season and each queues at its own level, its best timed run plus the Step; the Keys tab shows the chain in one line, "From your best runs +9 to +11 · Queueing for +11 to +13 in 4 dungeons · each dungeon at its own level", and the panel says "From +9 to +11 · Queueing for ...". Your Range is kept while you try Smart, so switching back restores it. Picking Smart on the panel opens the Keys tab, where the filters are. The Keystone +1/+2/+3 buttons and the Plan by Dungeon toggle are gone; the panel's Step stepper no longer truncates to "Keys...". The Loadout's flex row is labelled Accept (Exact / Up +2 / ±1) so it reads as tolerance, not a second level setting.
  • Avoid, don't skip. OCE realms and leaders who usually decline you are no longer filtered out: with the switch on they lose 20 points, so they sit at the bottom of the list and get an application only when nothing else is left. The panel's Loadout has an Avoid: row for the two (OCE Realms, Decliners); Skip: keeps the hard ones (your class, and Skip Sellers stays a hard skip, since a boost sale is never wanted). The Filters tab's OCE choice reads Any / Prefer / Avoid.
  • Cancel Lowest is the new name of Cancel All, because that is what it does: this click withdraws your lowest-scored application and each action button press withdraws the next weakest, so your best applications go last (they used to go in the game's order). The button counts down. It sits left-aligned under "Next step:" together with Step Now (optional); the "or just press any action button" line is gone. Step Now's tooltip lays the cycle out as three bullet points (Search, Apply, Cancel, then over again) instead of a paragraph.
  • Plan by Dungeon reads top-down now. Keys tab: "From your best runs: +9 to +11" on the first row, the Keystone step stepper under it, then "Queueing for +11 to +13 in 4 dungeons" in the hint line, so it is clear what the step steps from. The panel's line under the stepper starts the same way ("From +9 to +11 · Queueing for ..."). The level buttons are your three highest next levels (a gap between them is fine) and read "+12 Dungeons" over "3 of 8".
  • Panel wording: the empty area reads, centred, "No search results yet" over "Press any action bar keybind (or Step Now) to start queueing." (and, after a search that found nothing, "No groups at your levels in the last search" over "Your next keybind press searches again."); the footer reads "Current step: pending your next keybind press".
  • The sign-up note moved to Keys > Apply As and is called what it is: the note Blizzard sends with your application (it was "Note to Leader" on the Chat tab, which read like a whisper). Same row: what the game has in the box now, Type the Note... to open Blizzard's sign-up window, the "Ask for the note on my first application" switch, and a Suggested line to copy, built from your spec, rating, item level and what you bring (lust, brez, kick, dispels), within the box's 63 characters.
  • The whisper on apply is gone. It annoyed leaders and opened conversations that could go wrong; the sign-up note does the job. The Chat tab keeps the party hello, the Share line and the alerts. /ks msg apply is retired.
  • Smart Filters live in Smart mode. Under the dungeon list, Exact and Range show All Dungeons and a hint; Smart adds the filters: Highest Keys, Lowest Keys, Under My Level (was Below Key), Highest Rated, Lowest Rated, Fewest Chests, Shortest Timers and Missing Portals. Hover any of them for what it means and exactly which dungeons it would tick. A filter only ticks dungeons; the Step decides the levels, except Missing Portals, which also sets a floor of +10 (a timed +10 is what earns the portal). Ticking by hand clears that floor.
  • Keys tab rows keep the same four columns whatever you do, Best / Chests / Score / Timer, numbers centred under their titles, so nothing bounces when a setting changes (the plan's level per dungeon is in the row tooltip). The level buttons read "3 dungeons at +11" with a line above saying what they do; All Dungeons moved up to the Smart Select row.
  • Panel: Group Finder is the button's name now (the game's own), and Settings opens the settings window (it said Menu). Loadout toggles wrap to a second line instead of running into the panel's border.
  • When the Group Finder search box is readable and empty, the panel's Step 1 says so in amber ("Step 1: the search box is empty") and the Keys tab's search line starts with "The search box is empty."
  • Share KeyScout, your pick of five lines. Chat > Share KeyScout has a picker with five lines to send (While I play, How I got here, Any action button, You're in! window, Beta testers); the chosen line shows in full under the row, wrapped, and stays your default. Send to Party and the panel's Share link send that line. It replaces the single copy field.
  • Panel Loadout: the toggles read Skip Sellers, Skip Decliners, Widen Over Time, OCE Realms and Plan by Dungeon, and each has a tooltip saying what it does. The class skip is worded as what it checks, Already a Demon Hunter in my role, with your class in its colour so it visibly follows the character you're on: it skips groups that already have one of your class in a role you apply as, since with you that would be two. Its tooltip says so, and says why it's green when you stack your own armor type. The Filters tab's switch reads the same way ("Skip groups that already have a Demon Hunter").
  • Skip Decliners' hint (Filters tab, and the panel tooltip) now says what happens either way: a leader who declines you is skipped for the cooldown under Applying (20 minutes by default) and that listing for the rest of the session. The switch adds the long memory across characters (3+ answered applications, 80%+ declined) and stays off by default.
  • Keys tab: All Dungeons moved off the Dungeons title, where it was always green, to the first spot on the row of level buttons, and it now lights up only while every dungeon is selected, the same way a plan level lights up when it is the current selection. Best +1 / Best +2 sit beside the Plan by dungeon checkbox, the plan is explained in three short points under the buttons, and Apply As has room around its title.
  • Escape closes the You're in! window, as it already closed the settings window. The always-on panel stays put (Escape hides every such window at once, and the panel is meant to stay); its minimize and close glyphs and /ks do that job.
  • Note to leader, typed once. Chat > Note to Leader has Set the Note Now, which opens Blizzard's own sign-up window on the best listing so you can type the note and click Sign Up yourself, and an option Ask me for the note on the first application: with it on, KeyScout's first application of a session opens that window instead of applying, you type the note once, and every application after that carries it. Addons can't type into that box, but the game sends whatever is in it with each application, and it stays until Blizzard's window opens for a different dungeon.

1.0.0-alpha4

  • Minimap button with the KeyScout logo. Left-click shows or hides the panel, right-click opens the settings, drag it around the minimap. The logo also sits on the panel, the settings window and the addon list.
  • Windows stay in front. The panel, the settings window and You're in! share one layer: whichever opens or gets clicked last comes to the front, so nothing hides behind anything. The settings window opens attached to the panel's right side and follows it; drag it anywhere to detach, click Attach in its header to snap it back. The Panel tab remembers your choice.
  • Run Recorder (quiet). Every Mythic+ key you run is now recorded on this account: who was in it, keystone level and affixes, how it went, deaths, ratings before and after, and each player's numbers from the game's own damage meter, every meter type it offers. It shows nothing and scores nothing yet; it keeps clean data so later KeyScout updates can grade runs, groups and players from what you've already played. Stays under a 4 MB budget on its own, keeps the newest 100 runs in full, and never sends anything anywhere. /ks recorder on|off, /ks runs.
  • Combat logging in dungeons. When you zone into a dungeon (and again as the key starts), KeyScout turns the game's combat log on if it isn't already, with advanced logging, so Warcraft Logs and a future companion have the full run. It turns it off when you leave, but only if it was the one that turned it on. /ks combatlog on|off, or the switch in Applying > Behaviour.
  • A level per dungeon, one search text. A Smart Select whose dungeons need different levels (Push Higher, Lowest Rated, Fewest Chests) now gives each dungeon its own exact level and suggests one search text covering the span. You type it once; inside it, Scout Sense tells the levels apart, so an Altar that needs +12 isn't applied to at +10 while a Kings' Rest at +10 is. The panel shows "Per dungeon: Kings' Rest +10 · Ruby Life Pools +11 · Altar of Fangs +12" in place of the level stepper, the Keys tab shows each dungeon's level, and changing the key level goes back to one level for all. The plan's group buttons still offer the exact one-level-at-a-time steps if you'd rather retype per step. With the plan on and one level for all, the panel warns when a picked dungeon needs more than the low end of what you search.
  • Exact means exact (opt in, Applying > Behaviour): with the search box wider than your one level, keep only listings whose level is pinned by the box or a leader's item-level tag and skip the rest as "Level not certain". Off by default, so the text you set stays the text you set.
  • Loadout is the new name of the panel's Power Options. It gained the power-user switches that used to live only in the settings: Swap slots (Off / Gentle / Balanced / Eager), Widen over time, Skip sellers and Skip decliners. Plan by dungeon is now a toggle on the Level row instead of a button floating on the right, so Range mode no longer leaves an empty row. A tinted backdrop with a bar down the left now shows exactly where the section starts and ends, so you can see what the header collapses.
  • Clearer panel messages: with nothing searched yet it asks you to press a button (or Step now) instead of saying "no groups"; after a search that found nothing it says so and that the next press searches again; when KeyScout is off it says "Turn KeyScout ON to continue" once, not twice; the footer reads "Step now: any action button you press".
  • Step now button. One Group Finder step by mouse, beside "Next step" on the panel, for anyone who'd rather click than press a key. It is optional: every action button press does the same, the panel says so under it, and the Panel tab can hide it.
  • Panel tab in the settings: size, lock, hide inside instances, Next Best rows; the Step now and minimap buttons; and what the minimized panel keeps. The settings window now has two rows of tabs.
  • Help tab. Getting started in three steps, every slash command one per line (scroll for more), a few tips, and a support address you can copy (click it, Ctrl+C), sitting above the footer. /ks support opens it.
  • Dry Run is now Preview Mode everywhere: the badge, the footer button (hover it for what it does), the chat lines and /ks preview on|off; /ks dryrun still works. It searches and shows what it would apply to, without applying, so no invites come while it's on.
  • Minimized panel keeps the level stepper (From / To with Range on), the search text to copy, and Step now and Cancel All at the bottom right, each of them optional (Panel tab). Change the level, grab the text or take a step without expanding it.
  • Once your search text is set and the Group Finder is still open, the panel says you can close it now: KeyScout searches without the window, and you only need it again to change the text.
  • Cancel All no longer turns KeyScout off. It withdraws your applications, skips those groups for five minutes, and keeps hunting; only OFF (or joining a group, entering an instance) stops it.
  • Cleared search text, noticed. The game empties the Group Finder search box when you join a group, and with the window closed you'd never see it: KeyScout would quietly go by Scout Sense. Now it notices the box went blank after you had set it, says so once, and Step 1 comes back in amber as "Step 1 again" with the text you had, so you can paste it once more if you want exact levels.
  • Deaths and time to spare. Each run now records the death count (and the time deaths cost). The You're in! window shows "Timed +1 28:14 · 5:30 to spare · 4 deaths" (or "1:12 over"), counts deaths live while the key runs, and hovering the Result score shows the time against the timer and the deaths.
  • Rate this group. Once a key has ended (or the group is gone), the You're in! window lists the other members with Play again / Rather not. Click a stamp, then the row, to pick from six quick reasons; there's also a note box for the run. Stamps stay with the player (the last 10) and with the run, and Played together before shows your latest verdict on someone. Reopen any run from Stats > Recent Groups to rate it later. Your notes only; nothing is ever shared.
  • The LFD button (and Search > Open Dungeons Search) now opens the Group Finder straight to Premade Groups > Dungeons > the search page, with the search box ready for your text. No more clicking Premade Groups, then Dungeons, then Find a Group. It never searches by itself, so your applications and results stay as they are; clicking it again on that page closes the window.

1.0.0-alpha3

  • Fixed: after a group KeyScout found you finished its key (or an invite went away without you answering it), the panel could keep saying "Invite pending: answer Blizzard's dialog" with no dialog anywhere, and only a /reload cleared it. KeyScout now asks the game which invites are really waiting each time it plans a step, the same way Blizzard's own invite window does, so a stale one can no longer block you.
  • Fixed: after a key, KeyScout could announce that the game was blocking your action-button presses and stop listening to them, with no way left to queue until a /reload. The game reports KeyScout's own windows being touched in combat as "blocked" too, and every such report counted. Now only a block of one of KeyScout's own key-press actions counts; a real run of them rests the presses for 10 minutes instead of the whole session, and turning KeyScout OFF and ON ends the rest. Clicking ON on the panel now also takes the first step (a search), so the panel alone can start it.
  • KeyScout pauses while the game restricts addons (inside a running key or a boss fight), and the saved log notes every block and every restriction change, so a repeat can be read from /ks debug.
  • Leaderboard: My Group shows your history with each member of the party you're in right now, leader or not: groups together, keys timed, your stamp, their record as a leader with you, and a click through to the runs you recorded with them. The button carries a count when KeyScout knows someone in your party, red when one of them is a Rather not, and the panel shows the same badge ("2 you know" / "1 rather not") in its footer, or on the minimized panel's bottom row, only while there is someone to show; hover it for who, click it for My Group. A Find box filters the board by name.
  • Leaderboard: a leader's rates now count only the applications they answered (invited, declined, or let run out). The ones you or KeyScout withdrew, for a swap or by turning it off, no longer drag their invite rate down; the match bonus and "Skip leaders who usually decline you" use the same count. Cards show Ignored and Withdrawn, the key levels a leader invited you at ("Avg invite 30s at +10-12") and the keys you ran with them, and names with their realm have room again. Click a leader for the runs you recorded with them, and click a run for its summary.

1.0.0-alpha2

  • If the game ever blocks Group Finder actions started from your action-button presses, KeyScout stops using them for the rest of the session and tells you once what still works (its own keybind, or clicking the panel), instead of repeating an error. The panel footer shows it too.

1.0.0-alpha1

First public test build. KeyScout finds and applies to the best Mythic+ groups for you while you keep playing: every action button you already press lets it take one Group Finder step (search, apply, or cancel), so you never sit refreshing listings.

Getting started

  • Pick your key level on the panel, paste the search text it gives you into the Group Finder search box, click ON, and play. That's it.

Finding groups

  • Ranks every listing and keeps your five applications on the best ones, swapping weak ones out.
  • Exact key levels through the search box, or Scout Sense reads each leader's runs.
  • Optional filters: must-have Lust / Brez / Tank / Healer, playstyle, leader rating, realms (Prefer or Skip OCE), same-class skip, likely sellers and carry teams skipped.
  • Vault Goals, Smart Select and Plan by Dungeon pick levels and dungeons for your Great Vault, portals and score.

Once you're in

  • "You're in!": the dungeon and level, every member's rating, item level and best run there, the group's basic needs, Group Readiness (hover it for the scale), and a one-click teleport to the dungeon.
  • After the key, a result score shows how it went and how that compares with the readiness it started with. Readiness tunes itself to your results over time.
  • Played together before: see who in the group you've run with, how often, and how those keys went. Optionally say hi to them (off unless you turn it on).
  • Recent Groups keeps your last 20 groups and how each key went.

Your stats

  • Insights: how your keys went by readiness, basic needs, experience, rating, gear, affix and dungeon.
  • Leaderboard of the leaders you've applied to: invites, speed, best keys.
  • Great Vault progress and time-to-invite stats.

Nothing is ever sent to other players unless you click Share or turn a message on.
