Ranksmith v1.0.0
What's new
1.0.0 — counted once, a reminder at the skill cap, and switches for each character
Tested on the WoW: Forever beta (build 1.60.1.70450) ahead of launch.
- Fixed: the same spells listed under two trainers and counted twice. The rank beside a spell's name ("Rank 2") is text the game loads a moment after a trainer's window opens, so a trainer visited for the first time could be recorded with "Smite" where another trainer's record said "Smite Rank 2". Ranksmith took those for two different spells: both trainers showed in the window and the minimap count said 4 for 2. A spell is now also known by its name and the level it needs, so the two are one, counted once and at one price, in what is waiting and in what is coming up. Ranksmith also reads a trainer's list again when the game says a name has arrived, and once more a moment after opening one that came without ranks, so the record is right before you leave.
- A reminder when a profession reaches its skill cap. At the cap a profession gains no more skill until its next rank is trained, and nothing on screen says so. Ranksmith now says it once in chat when the cap is reached, counts it as something to train on the minimap button and in the window under "Professions", and repeats it with the login and level-up reminders until the rank is trained. A rank your character is too low to train yet is left out until it can be.
/rs capsturns the reminder off on the character you are playing. - A settings window.
/rs configopens it: the reminders, the minimap button, and the switches that apply to one character (recipes, weapon skills, the skill cap reminder, quiet). Every switch is still a word after/rsas well. With the suite's launcher, Ranksmith's row has a Settings button. - Profession recipes can be hidden, a character at a time.
/rs recipesleaves everything a profession trainer teaches out of what is waiting and what is coming up, on the character you are playing only. Class spells are not affected, and your other characters keep counting recipes until you switch it on them too. Type it again to count them once more. - Weapon skills can be hidden, a character at a time. A weapon master's list counted as waiting to train, so a bank character was told to learn Two-Handed Maces.
/rs weaponskillsleaves everything a weapon master teaches out, on the character you are playing only. Type it again to count it once more. - Escape closes Ranksmith's window, as it does the suite's other windows.
- Quiet on one character.
/rs quietswitches Ranksmith off on the character you are playing: nothing is counted, nothing is said in chat, and the minimap button is hidden. It is meant for a bank character that will never train. Trainers it opens are still remembered, so/rs quietagain brings everything back at once.
Supported versions
All future development targets WoW: Forever.
TBC Anniversary is no longer a development target and will receive no further work. Some compatibility with the older trainer API still exists in the code and will most likely keep working, but it is not tested and not maintained.
