RangerDial — Changelog
v0.17.1
- Polished the trap cooldown visuals to properly match RangerDial's circular design.
- Replaced the default rectangular Blizzard cooldown shading with a custom circular cooldown mask.
- Cooldown shading now stays cleanly inside the round trap icons without visible square corners extending beyond the gold border.
- Removed the additional cooldown edge effect to prevent visual artifacts around the circular icon frame.
- Numeric cooldown timers and existing trap cooldown behavior remain unchanged.
v0.17.0
- Improved combat support for the Trap and Aspect ring menus. Secure spell buttons are now prepared before combat so both menus remain fully usable while fighting.
- Reworked combat menu handling using Blizzard's secure button system, allowing the Trap and Aspect rings to be opened, closed, and used during combat without attempting restricted frame changes.
- Improved spell detection by resolving spell names directly from Blizzard spell IDs instead of relying on hard-coded German spell names.
- RangerDial now handles localized spell names automatically, improving compatibility with non-German game clients.
- Improved learned-spell detection so RangerDial can identify the actual spell rank known by the character.
- Unlearned Traps and Aspects continue to appear grayed out with an appropriate tooltip.
- Improved cooldown handling by using the character's learned spell information where available.
- Centralized version handling so the addon version is read from the TOC instead of being maintained independently in multiple files.
- Fixed shared Trap cooldown updates so all relevant Trap buttons refresh correctly.
v0.16.0
- Combat-ready: the sphere and ring menus now stay fully usable during combat (locking still works exactly as before). Both menus are now built from pre-configured button sets so nothing needs to change mid-fight.
- Reset tab layout polished and realigned with the classic MageSphere-style options window.
v0.14.x
- Restock now ships disabled by default, pre-loaded with basic, affordable starter ammo (Rough Arrow / Light Shot) instead of high-tier reagents.
- Simplified the ammo setup flow — removed the extra detection/retry system in favor of a clean, predictable default.
v0.13.x
- Fine-tuned the sphere's window layering: it now sits above your action bars but never covers your bags or other game windows.
v0.12.x
- The Aspect that's currently active on your character is now visually marked in the ring menu (via the Arcane Explosion icon) and updates live as your Aspect changes.
v0.11.0
- Fixed an issue where Aspect assignments could get stuck empty after an update, leaving the Aspect ring menu blank. Existing saves are now migrated automatically.
- Default Aspect order now roughly follows the order you learn them while leveling.
v0.10.0
- The Aspect ring menu is complete! All 7 Aspects (Hawk, Monkey, Cheetah, Pack, Wild, Beast, Viper) are arranged evenly around the sphere, with full drag-and-drop assignment support in the options window.
v0.9.0
- Switched trap icons back to authentic, live Blizzard spell icons (rounded via an in-game mask) after experimenting with custom artwork.
v0.8.0
- Introduced fully custom, hand-designed round icons for all 5 traps.
v0.7.x
- Fixed a bug that could leave the Sphere options page blank.
- Polished the rounded trap icon frames so no square corners peek through.
v0.6.0
- New sphere icon design, plus clearer error reporting if something ever goes wrong while opening the options window.
v0.5.0
- Reworked how trap icons are rounded for better cross-client compatibility, and hardened the options window against partial-load errors.
v0.4.0
- Trap icons in the ring menu are now rounded.
- Added a shared cooldown swipe animation across all trap buttons.
v0.3.0
- Sphere options page redesigned to match the classic assignment-table layout, with per-position dropdowns and Apply/Default controls.
- Trap ring switched to a clean 5-slot pentagon layout matching the 5 available traps.
v0.2.0
- Real trap spells added to the Trap ring menu: Explosive Trap, Immolation Trap, Frost Trap, Freezing Trap, Snake Trap — each with live icons and automatic graying-out for spells you haven't learned yet.
v0.1.1
- New, more detailed sphere icon.
- Fixed a text overlap issue on the Info page.
- Removed slash commands in favor of simpler sphere/minimap access to the options window.
v0.1.0 — Initial Release
- First version of the addon, inspired by MageSphere.
- Movable, lockable sphere with minimap button and Titan Panel support.
- Placeholder ring menus for Traps (left-click) and Aspects (right-click).
- Green-and-bronze options window with General, Sphere, Traps, Aspects, Integration, Profiles, Reset, and Info tabs.
- Full German and English localization.
