Description
**If your melee range bar isn't working, read below**
**If you are a caster and your range bar starts at the top left of the screen, or doesn't show up at all, it's because it's snapped to the ranged swing timer by default and you don't have the swing timer enabled. You can unsnap and unlock it in the settings, or you can enable the ranged swing timer in edit mode.
**currently in Forever Beta all addons reset their settings on reload or relog. This bar will automatically adjust its length according to your Swing Timer's length by default, you can save a certain length by changing the length of the swing timer. This addon was inspired by the change to ranged attacks with ALL ranged weapons on any class that can use them, shooting instantly and allowing insane kiting, (THIS HAS NOW BEEN DECLARED A BUG AND WILL BE PATCHED. RIP HUNTERS) but is also useful for spells to put an always-visible indicator without looking down at your bars, which will tell you when you are in range so that you would always start the fight from max range or maintain your distance as a healer.
Ranged Attack range bar - a bar switching between Green (In Range) and Red (Out of Range) - only shows up when targetting a living enemy
Melee Attack range bar - a bar switching between Green (In Range) and Red (Out of Range) - only shows up when targetting a living enemy
Heal Bar - a bar switching between Cyan (In Range) and Gray (Out of Range) - only shows up when targetting a living ally
Adjustable, by default snaps to your native Swing Timer, and tailored to work differently for each class.
Notes:
*Calculating the range between you and your target is impossible. It is possible however to check if you're in range for certain abilities. This addon is built on that. You can change the ability which the range tracking is based on in the settings.
*Due to the "Attack" ability and abilities that buff your auto attack technically having infinite range, Melee Range Bar will only work on these classes once you learn these abilities:
*Warrior: Rend
*Paladin: Holy Strike
*Shaman: Stormstrike
*Druid: Growl or Claw
*Hunter: Wing Clip
*Mage's range tracking is based on Frostbolt by default, so will be bugged until you learn Frostbolt, unless you change it to Fireball.
**Heal Bar enabled by default on every class with a heal and will use the range reference of your first available heal spell.
Unique class behaviour:
*Druid: automatic switching between Melee and Ranged range bar depending on form, snapped to Melee Swing Timer by default, Melee range will not show when not in a melee form, unless manually turned on.
*Shaman melee range bar will not work until you learn Stormstrike. it is therefore disabled by default.
*Hunters and Rogues both have both types of damage range bars -
Hunter has Ranged only enabled by default
Rogue has Melee only enabled by default
Each will snap to their respective swing timers by default.
