RaidCanvas - Raid Roster Assistant

Drag-and-drop raid roster builder for guilds. Plan 10/20/40-man groups, share drafts with officers, publish to your guild, and invite with one click.

RaidCanvas is a raid roster planner for guild leaders and officers. You build your raid by dragging guild members into groups, and everyone in the guild with the addon can see the final roster in game.

Build your raid

  • 10, 20 and 40-man layouts in raid groups, plus a 5-slot bench and a row for PUGs (players from outside the guild)
  • Your Guild Roster grouped by class in class colors, with search and sortable columns
  • Tank, Healer and DPS counters, with roles and specs set by right-clicking a player
  • Save as many rosters as you like for each raid size

Share with your officers, then publish

  • Save keeps a roster private, and Share Draft sends it only to your Publishers (the ranks you choose)
  • Publish sends the roster to the whole guild, with an optional announcement in guild chat
  • Publisher Notes, only seen by Publishers and only sent with Share Draft
  • New published rosters and drafts show as a red or gold dot on the minimap button until you open them

Run the raid

  • Raid Invites invites everyone on the roster, PUGs included, converts the group to a raid and gives Publishers assist
  • Sort Groups moves everyone into their planned groups
  • Discord Image shows a clean roster view with a screenshot button for posting to Discord (saves to WoW Screenshots directory)

Calendar Integration

RaidCanvas adds a small strip of controls under guild events in the in-game calendar.

Linking a roster to an event (Publishers)

  • Open a guild event in the calendar and choose the raid size from the Raid Size drop-down. Only Publishers use this drop-down, and the size they pick is shared with the guild.
  • Click the RaidCanvas button on the event. It opens the roster for that event’s date, or creates one named after the event if none exists yet.
  • An older roster can be tied to an event with Actions > Link to this event.
  • Once the roster is published, members can open it straight from the event.

Seeing who signed up

  • When a Publisher opens an event, RaidCanvas reads the event’s attendee list and remembers each player’s response.
  • The Sign-up column in the Guild Roster then shows that response next to each name, such as Confirmed, Tentative or Signed Up, for the roster’s date.
  • The column updates each time the event is opened again in the calendar.

How members update their status

  • Members open the event Sign up and click Confirmed, Tentative or Out in the “My status” row that RaidCanvas adds.
  • Their choice shows in RaidCanvas right away and is sent to the guild’s Publishers.

Why a Publisher has to open the event (addon fixed a calender issue)

The game only lets an event’s organizer or a calendar moderator (normally one of your Publishers) change another player’s status on the calendar. So a member’s button click is a request, not a change to the calendar itself.

  • The next time the organizer or a moderator opens that event with RaidCanvas installed, every waiting request is written onto the real calendar automatically.
  • The member’s addon keeps the request and sends it again at each login until it has been applied, so nothing is lost if no Publisher is online.
  • Until it’s applied, the member’s choice shows in RaidCanvas but not yet on the calendar itself.

Tip for Publishers: open the raid’s calendar event once before the raid, or before building the roster. That reads the latest sign-ups into the Guild Roster and applies any waiting status requests at the same time.

Members with no roster yet: if a member clicks the RaidCanvas button on an event that has no published roster, RaidCanvas tells them so.

For guild members

  • A simple view-only screen of published rosters
  • A one-click prompt to choose your spec so officers can plan around it
