Ragecutter Helper
Ragecutter Helper is a calm, opinionated Warrior helper for WoW Classic Era that highlights the best next ability to press based on real fight context, without turning your UI into a cockpit or playing the game for you.
This addon is designed for players who understand Warrior fundamentals, but want help making good decisions consistently, especially while leveling, dungeon running, or playing when tired.
It values restraint as much as action.
What this addon does
Ragecutter Helper continuously evaluates the current fight and highlights a single recommended ability using an action-button glow and a small on-screen callout.
It considers:
-
Your current rage
-
Target health percentage
-
Estimated time-to-die (TTD)
-
Elite / boss status
-
Multi-mob situations (cleave vs single target)
-
Weapon swing speed and timing
-
Whether key debuffs already exist on the target
-
Solo vs group play
The goal is simple: tell you what matters right now, and when it’s better to wait.
What this addon is not
-
❌ Not a rotation bot
-
❌ Not an automation tool
-
❌ Not a WeakAuras replacement
-
❌ Not designed for top-end raid parsing
It does not cast spells, queue abilities, or bypass Blizzard’s protected actions. You always press the buttons yourself.
Recommended Button Setup (Important – Please Read)
Ragecutter Helper is designed around a deliberate, low-spam playstyle.
It assumes you are pressing a small number of buttons intentionally, rather than repeatedly spamming multiple abilities.
Following this setup is strongly recommended.
Button 1 – Main Filler
Levels 1–39: Sunder Armor
#showtooltip Sunder Armor
/startattack
/cast Sunder Armor
Level 40+: Mortal Strike
(Replace the macro above when you learn Mortal Strike)
#showtooltip Mortal Strike /startattack
/cast Mortal Strike This is your default button when nothing special is happening.
The addon will decide when it is worth pressing and when it is better to wait.
Button 2 – Overpower (Reaction Button)
#showtooltip Overpower
/cast [nostance:1] Battle Stance
/cast Overpower
Overpower is one of the highest-value abilities while leveling.
Press this only when it lights up.
Button 3 – Execute (Finisher)
#showtooltip Execute
/startattack
/cast Execute
Use this when the addon highlights it in execute range.
Late-fight rage is intentionally protected.
Button 4 – Heroic Strike (Separate on Purpose)
#showtooltip Heroic Strike
/cast Heroic Strike
Heroic Strike is an on-next-swing rage dump and should not be used as a main filler.
Keeping it on a separate button ensures it is used intentionally, not habitually.
Optional safety version (prevents Heroic Strike in groups):
#showtooltip Heroic Strike
/cast [nogroup] Heroic Strike
Charge – Recommended on Mouse Button
Simple version:
#showtooltip Charge
/cast Charge
Optional solo convenience version (two presses):
#showtooltip Charge
/cast Charge
/cast Rend
This will Charge on the first press, then cast Rend on a second press once in range.
Rend will still be suppressed by the addon in groups or when inappropriate.
Cleave / Sweeping Strikes / Whirlwind
Keep these abilities near Button 4 or on nearby mouse buttons.
They are situational power tools and should be easy to reach, but not part of the core spam loop.
Very Important: About Button Spamming
This addon is not compatible with constant button spamming.
Spamming:
-
Burns rage inefficiently
-
Disrupts weapon swing timing
-
Reduces Execute and Overpower value
-
Works against the addon’s decision logic
Ragecutter Helper is designed to highlight:
-
when to act
-
and when to wait
Trusting the pauses is part of the intended playstyle.
Compatibility note
This addon works best with:
-
Minimal action bar clutter
-
Intentional key presses
-
Players who value consistency over frantic input
If your playstyle relies on repeatedly pressing multiple buttons every global, this addon may feel restrictive.
Design philosophy
Ragecutter Helper is deliberately opinionated:
-
Rend is treated as a situational investment, not a habit
-
Sunder Armor is handled conservatively and suppressed in groups by default
-
Late-fight rage is protected for Execute
-
Overpower and Execute are always high priority
-
Waiting is sometimes the correct play
Instead of showing everything that can be pressed, it highlights what is worth pressing.
Intended audience
This addon is ideal for:
-
Warrior leveling (Arms → Fury path)
-
Dungeon play
-
Players who dislike complex WeakAuras setups
-
Players who want guidance without UI clutter
-
Players who value consistency over perfect simulation DPS
If you enjoy building large, highly-configurable WeakAura packages, this addon is probably not for you — and that’s intentional.
Features
-
Phase-based fight logic (opener / mid / finish / execute / cleave)
-
Strict rules to prevent ability spam and late-fight waste
-
Group-safe behaviour (avoids stealing tank jobs or pulling threat)
-
Anti-flicker recommendation stability
-
Movable on-screen callout
-
Action-bar glow highlighting
-
Minimal configuration required
Commands
-
/rh– show help -
/rh on//rh off– enable or disable the addon -
/rh glow– toggle action button glow -
/rh callout– toggle on-screen callout
Notes
This addon reflects a real-world Warrior playstyle, not a simulator.
Feedback is welcome, especially from players leveling or running dungeons.
