What's new

Changelog

1.0.0

Initial release.

  • Filter world map quest pins by type, named as the Map Legend names them: Campaign, Important, Legendary, Meta, Repeatable, Local Story and Events, plus Trivial Quests through the game's own tracking filter (which also covers the minimap) and World Quests.
  • One rule everywhere: a ticked row is visible. Unticking World Quests also removes their objective tracker section, the "World Quest" entry banner and the completion alerts.
  • Follow my guide: your Zygor or RestedXP guide, or the BtWQuests chain you last opened, scoped to the current step, the next few steps, or the whole guide.
  • The objective tracker follows the same type and guide filters; quests are hidden from the list, never untracked.
  • A QuestPrism tab on the world map's side panel lists the guide's quests in guide order, with a settings menu for the source and the scope.
  • A settings window built on Blizzard's own templates: four built-in presets plus your own, filters per character or account-wide, solo mode, hide or dim, a quick menu on the map and minimap buttons, two keybindings, and an Escape-menu page.

Since the beta builds

A full pass over the settings: what the controls are called, what they mean, and where they live. Your saved filters and presets carry over.

The window

  • One rule everywhere: a ticked row is visible. "Block world quests" is now a World Quests row in the same list as the quest types, and the minimap switch reads "Minimap button" (ticked = shown) in the window and on the Escape-menu page.
  • Two shapes for the same rows. Opened from the map it stays one tall column beside the map; opened from the minimap button, /questprism or the keybinding it is two columns, using the screen's width instead of its height. The standalone position is remembered.
  • Every quest row carries the Map Legend's own name and description (Campaign, Important, Legendary, Meta, Repeatable, Local Story). Trivial Quests, Expedition and World Quests have descriptions of their own.
  • "This character / All characters" sits at the top, above the rows it affects. "Hide / Dim" for filtered pins and the objective tracker switch are together under "Where it applies". Sections no longer collapse.

Presets

  • Four built in: Leveling, Campaign only, Endgame, Weekly chores. They share one dropdown with your own, built-in first.
  • Choosing a preset applies it; the name shows "(edited)" once you change a row. "Save as..." replaces the old Load / Save / Delete buttons, and Delete moved into the dropdown where it only offers your own presets.
  • A saved preset that shares a built-in's name is renamed with " (yours)" on load, so it stays reachable.

The guide

  • Its controls live on the QuestPrism map tab: Follow my guide, the source dropdown (only when more than one guide addon is loaded), the Step / Next / Guide buttons and a stepper for "Next N". The window keeps a Follow my guide switch with the guide's status and a "Show on map" button.
  • New option, Source and scope here too, off by default: the window shows the same guide controls as the map tab. They grey out rather than disappear when no guide is followed.

World quests

  • New option, Waypoint arrow, off by default: while World Quests is unticked, a world quest is never super-tracked, so the arrow stops pointing at one. A followed guide takes precedence, so while you follow Zygor or RestedXP, which draw their own arrow, QuestPrism leaves waypoints alone whatever the option says.
  • "None", "Hide all" and solo now cover the World Quests row, so All and None are symmetric.

Fixes

  • World quests were never governed by the World Quests row on the map. Every world quest carries a countdown, and the pin typing tested the countdown first, so all of them were typed as Expedition: unticking Expedition hid every world quest, and ticking World Quests brought none back. A world quest is now a world quest, full stop.
  • The row that was called Expedition is the Map Legend's Event entry, the limited-time activities drawn as map markers. It now takes its name, description and horn icon from the game's own legend, in your client's language, and is identified by the event pin itself rather than by a countdown, which never identified one.
  • The QuestPrism map tab never drew its quest type icons: it asked a namespace that does not exist. It now uses the same classification lookup as the map filter, so a quest gets the same icon in both places.
  • Blizzard's quest list left its own scroll bar on screen beside the QuestPrism tab, so a second bar sat past the panel's edge and no amount of moving ours changed it. It is faded out while our tab is up and restored when you switch back.
  • The map tab's quest list used the legacy scroll frame, with the old chunky scroll bar beside the quest log's modern one. It now uses the same thin bar as the settings window.
  • The map tab's sections were bare text on a flat background. They are now the game's own list-header plates, which collapse when clicked and remember that per character. The list sits in the quest log's own bordered container, with the scroll bar outside it on the side and the same divider line the quest log draws, so the tab reads as part of the quest log rather than a panel dropped into it.
  • The tab is now one view: the list fills it top to bottom, with only a narrow strip down the right holding the quest log's own settings cog and, beneath it, the scroll bar. The cog opens a menu carrying Follow my guide, the source, the scope, how many steps count, and the way into the full settings window, so none of that takes a row from the list any more. The guide's status reads as the first line of the list.

Elsewhere

  • Quick menu: Follow my guide, a Quest types submenu that now includes World Quests, a new Presets submenu, then Show all, Hide all and Open.
  • The Escape-menu page is trimmed to Open, Minimap button, Debug and Share filters; the filter switches are no longer duplicated there.
  • The world map and minimap button tooltips show how many pins are hidden, while the map is open. /questprism help lists the commands.
  • The first-run "What's new" popup is gone.
  • Every button in the addon, in the window and on the map tab, uses the game's modern three-slice button art instead of the legacy panel-button textures. A client without that template keeps the old one.
