# QuestMobMarker

Thank you for checking out QuestMobMarker.

If you have wishes, comments, balance concerns, or ideas for small quality-of-life improvements, please leave them. I want to react quickly to feedback and build this together with the people actually using it. The goal is not just to ship another tracker, but to shape it into something genuinely useful for Hardcore leveling with the community.

QuestMobMarker is a compact tracker for WoW Classic Hardcore that reads your active quests, shows you the mobs that still matter, and lets you target them fast without digging through quest text in the middle of a dangerous pull. It is built for the moments where choosing the wrong mob is not just annoying, but can end a run.

Instead of trying to become a full quest guide, QMM stays focused on one practical question: which mob do I actually need right now, and how do I target it immediately?

## Core Features

- Scans your active quest log and builds a focused list of relevant quest mobs
- Supports kill quests and many loot-drop quests when Questie data is available
- Lets you click a mob row for direct targeting
- Supports action-key slots for full quests or single mobs
- Marks only the mob you actually target instead of blindly marking everything
- Distributes raid markers more intelligently when several mobs share the same slot
- Groups quests by area or dungeon header to keep the tracker readable
- Supports collapsing groups and quests without losing your layout preferences
- Shows inline slot and marker state so assignments stay easy to read
- Includes an optional rare-mob tracker for the current zone
- Shows rare direction and distance directly in the tracker
- Adds researched rare warnings and value hints for supported zones
- Protects slots against macro overflow and warns you when a setup would break
- Offers an optional overflow mode for quests with many possible target mobs
- Supports English and German localization

## Rare Mob Tracker

The rare helper is optional, but very useful if you want a little more awareness while moving through a zone. QMM can pull rare spawn data from Questie, show rares in the tracker, highlight whether they are worth a look or a potential risk, and give you quick orientation without forcing you to open your map every time. If TomTom is installed, you also get waypoint support.

## Overflow Protection

WoW macros have a hard character limit, which becomes a real problem once you start putting many loot targets on the same action key. QMM checks slot size before assignments become unusable. By default it blocks unsafe setups and warns you, so you do not end up with broken keys during actual play. If you prefer more flexibility, overflow mode can keep as many targets as fit and report the rest clearly.

## How To Use

Open the tracker with `/qmm`, assign quests or individual mobs to slots, bind those slots under `Esc -> Key Bindings -> QuestMobMarker`, and use the bound keys while playing. If you want more manual control, you can still target directly from the tracker at any time.

## Slash Commands

- `/qmm` toggles the tracker
- `/qmm options` opens the settings
- `/qmm rares` toggles rare tracking
- `/qmm debug` toggles debug mode
- `/qmm reset` resets position, size, and assignments
- `/qmm help` prints the command overview

## Optional Dependencies

QMM works on its own, but some features become stronger with common addon companions. Questie is used for item-drop mob lookup and rare mob data. TomTom adds waypoint support for rare navigation.
