PvP Blacklist
Never forget your enemies.
PvP Blacklist is a lightweight World of Warcraft addon that lets you maintain your own personal blacklist of players you don't want to forget.
Add a player, write a reason, and PvP Blacklist will automatically recognize them when they appear on nearby nameplates.
No external player database.
No ratings.
No subscriptions.
No complicated setup.
Just your blacklist.
Features
Personal PvP Blacklist
- Add players to your personal blacklist.
- Store a custom reason or note for each player.
- Edit or remove blacklist entries at any time.
- Your blacklist is saved between sessions using WoW SavedVariables.
Automatic Nameplate Detection
When a blacklisted player appears on a nearby nameplate, PvP Blacklist recognizes them automatically.
You don't need to manually search for their name.
Visual Alerts
A red blacklist indicator appears next to a detected blacklisted player's nameplate.
This makes it easy to recognize them immediately in the middle of a fight.
Sound Alerts
An optional sound alert is played when a blacklisted player is detected.
The sound can be enabled or disabled in the addon settings.
Target Instantly
Click the red indicator to target the detected player.
Blizzard Ping Support
Use the normal WoW Ping interaction with the blacklist indicator to quickly ping a detected player.
This uses Blizzard's built-in ping system.
Blacklist Reasons
Every blacklist entry can have its own note.
For example:
"Always attacks during quests."
"Seen repeatedly camping the area."
"Persistent rogue from previous BGs."
Your reason is shown in the addon interface and included in alerts.
Repeated Alerts
Don't miss a blacklisted player just because you were distracted.
Alerts can repeat at configurable intervals:
- 1 second
- 3 seconds
- 5 seconds
- 10 seconds
- 30 seconds
Message Modes
Choose how blacklist alerts are announced:
AUTO
Automatically sends the message to RAID or PARTY when grouped, and to yourself when solo.
PARTY
Sends the alert to your current party or raid group.
SELF
Only displays the alert to you.
In-Game Interface
Manage your blacklist directly from the addon window.
The interface allows you to:
- Add players
- Edit reasons
- Remove players
- Configure alert behavior
- Configure message mode
- Configure alert interval
- Enable or disable sound alerts
Open it with:

Open the interface:

List your blacklist:
/pbl list
Remove a player:
/pbl remove PlayerName
Change message mode:
/pbl mode auto

Change alert interval:
/pbl interval 1

Enable or disable sound:
/pbl sound on
/pbl sound off
Show addon version:

How It Works
- Add a player to your blacklist.
- Optionally add a reason.
- Continue playing normally.
- When that player appears on a nearby nameplate, PvP Blacklist detects them.
- A red blacklist indicator appears.
- You can click it to target the player.
- Use the normal WoW Ping interaction to ping them.
- An alert with the player's name and your note is displayed.
- An optional sound alert is played on first detection.
- Alerts can repeat according to your configured interval.
When the player leaves your nearby nameplates and is detected again later, the alert cycle starts again.
Privacy & Data
PvP Blacklist stores your blacklist locally using World of Warcraft SavedVariables.
The addon does not require:
- An external account
- An external database
- A companion application
- A web service
- A third-party player database
Your blacklist and notes remain part of your local WoW addon data.
Compatibility
PvP Blacklist is designed for modern versions of World of Warcraft and uses Blizzard's nameplate and ping systems.
It is designed to work with Blizzard nameplates and compatible nameplate addons.
Lightweight by Design
PvP Blacklist is intentionally simple.
It does not attempt to build a global reputation system or maintain an external database of players.
It is your personal list, stored locally and available whenever you need it.
