This AddOn draws a dotted line on the world map in the direction that your character is facing. Great if you want to end up in the right direction when you fly across a zone or continent with autorun on.
If you like this addon or have other feedback on it, please post a comment here or drop me an ingame mail on the Wildhammer EU server, character Willoisa.
If you want to contribute in some way, please donate WoW currency ;)
Hi, It's been a really long time since the original author made any updates to this, so I forked the project over here. It's working in 7.0 now.
Leave a comment on the new project if it blows up for some reason, and I'll see what I can do.
This addon still works perfectly fine for me. I have not noticed any errors.
2012 October 26, Mists of Pandaria, 5.0.5 (16135 Oct 8 2012)
I have never gotten an error from this addon. Do not be afraid to try this addon because of the last updated date.
A quote from the author on the curse.com site:
I would just like to mention that I have stopped playing WoW, and that is the reason behind the infrequent updates.
I just uploaded a new version to curseforge that ups the version number, just as in Urbins version.
For the future, I would like to keep the addon up to date by doing the uploads, i just need support from one of you providing me with the current version number that needs to be in the .toc file. (And perhaps other code changes if Blizzard makes major updates to the ui framework)
Please, please tell me this is possible! ;)
Thanks!
If it's just as you said though, and all you need is the name of the frame where the battlemap is rendered, I'll start asking around to see if I can help you.
Thanks!
/framestack is a little-known command that lists all the frames your mouse is overing over. As far as I know, it's part of the default blizzard UI!
It would be even better, if you could make MapRuler work with Cartographer 2 loaded.
Could this be changed somehow, probably in means of layer or strata, as to have MapRuler's dots in the foreground instead, so that they won't be hidden with the map's background? (or the background layer thing of the WorldMapFrame) Sorry, I'm no expert with this stuff.
good luck making other addons!!!
I have added a new version with some performance improvements that Dridzt suggested. Hopefully curse will approve it soon.
