ProfTooltip 4.0
What's new
4.0 — Recipe sources & quest usage
New
- Where to get the recipe. Crafted items now tell you where their recipe comes from: sold by a named vendor (with zone), a world drop, or a quest reward. 1,064 recipes indexed.
- Required for quests. Items now list the quests that ask for them, with quest level and faction colouring. 274 items, 835 quest links.
- Disenchanting. Enchanting reagents now show the item level range of gear that yields them, coloured by gear quality.
Changed
- Tooltips stay short by default. "Used to craft", enchant lists and quests are folded behind the modifier key and summed up in one line at the bottom ("Hold Shift: 26 recipes, 3 quests"). Raw materials that craft nothing else still show their list up front, so nothing useful is hidden.
- Chat-link tooltips show everything at once. Clicking an item link is a deliberate look-up, so no key is needed there.
- Herbalism dropped its hand-written "Used in Alchemy" list — the "Used to craft" index covers the same ground with icons and skill levels, and without the four wrong entries the old table carried.
- Two new toggles in the options panel: Quests needing the item and Where to get the recipe.
Fixed
- Chat-link tooltips no longer vanish when you hold the modifier key.
Trainer-taught recipes stay silent on purpose: 386 of the 1,064 recipes are learnt from a trainer, and saying so on every one of them would bury the line that actually tells you something.
